i was wondering, too... we won't stop harassing you until you do, just so you know. and the 4WotA are on their way to you as we speak and will only be stopped by a grand announcement that you have ticket in hand.

oh, and good morning.

i'm not joel either...but for you...? i could be... 8)

When Joel is silent, I get worried.

G'Day anyway.

Oooh Ooooh Oooh! We could have a Sockstatute Joel with the log in known to a dozen (or more) posters and we could take turns trying to be him. See who can be oneryiest.

Here's a different sort of wake up call.
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f ... AMQHR1.DTL

I find this somewhat puzzling:
State Department spokesman Lou Fintor said the government chartered flights only in special circumstances, such as when commercial flights are unavailable or during emergency evacuations.
So the tsunami was not a special circumstance? Just happens everyday?
Landgraver said, however, that he had received a no-fee replacement passport from the U.S. Embassy five hours after applying for it, as well as a toothbrush and a crime-thriller paperback.
I've been wondering about that paperback. Does the embassy give them to all visitors in an attempt to boost the american publishing industry? I've been spinning some of the typically over the top fishy scenarios on that book.

Well, here it is eplaya peepz, another Monday morning: jobs, school, errands, shovelling snow if ya got it, the whole nine. My suggestion is to remember to do something nice, no matter how small, for yourself or someone else. I'll start by wishing all of y'all a Good Morning.

I'm still not Joel, although I second fishy's idea of a Joel sock we could take turns with.....just seems kinda lopsided without him here doing his Joel thing.

{ahem}

It is morning. I have been up for three hours. Three dogs and five cats woke me up to go outside. I am in a bad mood.

Hey pretty please don't fucking use that nickname. It gets me steamed, and it's really not all that nice if you ask me.

And the post in question "the view from here" is in the Bar thread. Not missing.

Humblest apologies, and I'll not use it per your request. Seems I was thinking of something I had wanted to share with you that day but couldn't find where I wanted to post it. *shrugs*

Not knowing you two personally and being far removed from the tension of hte situation, I arbitrarily adore the nickname.

In fact, if you don't think you want to use it, mebbe I could borrow it for myself, *especially* during the holidays or those certain moon days or those days I just don't get enough sleep or on whimsy, et cetera. The beau would concur that it's suitable, I'm sure.

I would 2nd that it's a less than friendly epithet. I used to use it for BRR and his sitting up on his property hating us for having so much fun down on the playa, after all.

(before both yours time.)

it's evil.

I could see it being spiteful in context, but I surely didn't mean to be hateful.

I've been grinchie about this or that before, and that feeling still surfaces time to time. The nice thing about the story of hte grinch is that his heart grew three sizes, and then everyone was friends! Thinking personally again, not knowing your situation, Kristine. I love some Dr. Seuss. That man can tell a story!

In light of what it reminds me of ... and the way it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up ... and in light of what my stomach feels like when I even think of that nickname ...

Could I ask that you don't use it lovingly? Jokingly? Hurtfully (I know you didn't mean that here)? At all?

Thanks ... please don't use that nick. My name's Kristine.

Since you asked my opinion on this: I would appreciate never having to see or hear that name again. I guess I haven't been clear about what it does to me. It really makes me cry. Everytime. Even when it's in a joking manner. Maybe that's being "overly sensitive" or having an inability to laugh at myself. I am very sensitive, but I can poke fun at myself with impunity. This nickname has a hurtful genesis.

Nothing more I can say. People will do what they want.

... you want me to sit in the corner?... hmmmmmmm....

.... uh, okay..... I'll just keep the 'cute' comments to myself...
