Don't tell anybody. We'll just go.

It would be a shame if I had to resort to self-deception to preserve my faith in objective reality.

I don't post things because I believe that they are the absolute truth. I post them because I believe that they should be considered.

It'll never happen. Can't be done. You simply cannot gather a bunch of counterculture artists, muscians, performers and adventurers together in a barren desert.

You'd have chaos, anarchy, nudity, alcohol, sex, paganism, communism, people with purple hair, guys in girls clothes, girls with no clothes, illicit dancing and music, people urinating.

Sorry. It's just an impossibility. The only way is to have rules and laws and lawyers and government and permits and guns and people in suits, you'd have to pave everything and build toilets and have dumpsters... How are all those hippies gonna get out there? Drive? Nobody's walked across the desert out there since they last time they did. Where would they plug in their televisions? How would they have telephone service and cable TV?
It's a long walk to the nearest mall, there's no church or even a 7-Eleven. Do they even KNOW how to build a fire to survive?

Pipe dream. Get over it.

Hey, guys, I made it!
Here's a half-deer and a whole salmon to stick in the smoker.

(Park Ranger - Dressed in Khaki with official logo and badges talking on a 2-way radio walks up to address a small gathering of hippies on the playa.)

Ranger: Hello guys, I need verify a permit for this event. Are you guys aware you are embarking on Federally preserved land. If you can’t present me with a permit for this camp I’m going to have to ask you leave immediately.

(A man dressed as a clown and wearing only a rhinestone G-string with rainbow suspenders attached to attempts reason with the Ranger.)

Clown: Who the hell are you, and how did you know about this?

Ranger: I’m the guy who is here to rain on your parade, and some guy named, “ZaphodBurner” called in a complaint to HQ about 2 hours ago? NOW ABOUT THAT PERMIT!

Clown: Oh sure thing buddies, sorry about that. The permit is right over here in this tent come here I’ll show you. Here it is right inside the tent on that sleeping bag.

(The clown zips open the tent and extends his index finger into the opening toward the sleeping bag.)

Ranger: Stand back I’ll get it.

(Ranger squats down and puts his head through the opening and reaches for the piece of paper on the bag… Then WACK!!!!)

(The clown is now standing above the slumping park ranger who is bleeding from his massive head wound, and holding a long piece of rebars dripping with blood.)

Clown: Fire up the smoker boys! WE GONNA HAVE A PLAYA Q TONIGHT!!
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy!

* in the distance across he open playa what appears at first to be a giant bug with an clumsy gate moving towards the small cluster of tents and domes. As it comes closer it becomes recognizable as a machine. Something that looks like it’s been made out of an old ford van, some farm and lumbering machinery, and god knows what else. The giant bug lurches, teeters, falls forward and lurches again, steam boiling from under the hood as it comes to rest next to Martianskys dome. Zule leans out of the window *

I hope you don’t mind if I camp here I don’t think it will go any further.
