In CO out-of- staters can possess up to a 1/4 ounce, which is what the stores will sell one. Nothing to stop one from visiting multiple stores if they want to risk it. ID needs to be shown but it's not recorded (apart from video evidence) I've also seen nothing on edible thresholds, and I haven't seen any seeds on any menu, clones, yes, but seeds, no.
From what I've read it's a bit spendy but not quite as bad as WA. In Co, many stores have a two tier pricing, medicinal aside, one for "Regulars" (think supermarket savings cards) and one for walk-ins.
I believe in both Wa and Co the distributors have to grow what they sell and due to the timing of the licensing process there isn't copious amounts for sale initially in Wa. I read one distributor had a total of two lbs to sell at the get go. Start-up pains. It will be interesting to see if prices will come down as stock rises to meet the demand.
There are ancillary businesses that go along with it, apart from edibles there is a growing mj tourism thing going on. If I didn't have ties out east I'd think about getting in on some of these things. As one would expect not all the entrepreneurs on the ground floor are stoners.
I haven't cracked it as yet but the current issue of HT mag focuses on the CO scene.
I did read rave reviews about one shop where 2 out of 3 reference the quite attractive nubile "budtenders" (as much as I appreciate inventing words and language play I DO hate that word). Their prices are a bit higher but so are drinks in "gentlemen's clubs" (or so I've been told). If I ever decided to visit one of the shops it wouldn't be that one, make up your mind, you looking to cop some weed or a feel?
I've also heard rumors that Co plates are getting additional scrutiny at bordering states but it smacks of urban myth to me.
I may or may not have more info when I return from out west.
