I do know that it wasn't La Contessa, that vessel having crashed outside the event site to much schadenfreude among the rangers...

If I have my way, La Contessa will become a transport for the staff working the gate. (provided it can navigate the flat desert without running aground... again.)
Any respect I may have had for its design and construction has been lost by its lackluster safety record and piss-poor behavior.

What is that saying? If it's not difficult, expensive, or time consuming it's not a good playa project? La Contessa meets all those criteria. But most importantly she's beautiful to look at. I hope someone out there with the time and patience to fix her will do so and everyone will get the pleasure of seeing her safely operated in BRC again.

Sorry, I couldn't resist that.
It *can* be done, but it will take not only a lot of work on the physical "plant" of the vehicle (probably with better controls and probably a larger and better trained crew) but also a lot of work to convince the llc that it's ever gonna be safe enough to run during the event. THAT. my dears, will be the hardest part.

I know, but the same thing is always said about sound camps and bar cars. Not exactly out of the box thinking.
I liked the sub car out there this year because of its 'ping' you could hear far before you could see it. Event though thats been done before, I was thinking of arming it with something to take those ships out.

OK. Its pretty to look at. Its become a celebrity in its own right.
But its a big, hard to drive beast that always seems to get into trouble. Perhaps the city is too big for it to be driven safely.
Maybe what is needed is a second ship to capture and destroy it. A massive naval battle out on the dry sea of Lahontan. Now THAT would be worth the price of admission!

arr...now me have a mission for 06. if i only had a brain, i mean a house or some sort of space anywhere on this planet. fuck me and my stupid ass apartment. it's gonna be hard to build a 20th century (in the functional sense) ship vehicle on my roof, and get it down to the street. i'm talking lightning cannons, retractable life preservers to pick up passer-byes, and a fully functional sound system...shit. well at least i have a year...
