Dead Can Dance tribute band ???

Post by PatternInterrupt » Mon Mar 06, 2006 8:33 pm

I sing all of Brendan's parts and I'm an excellent percussionist.
Obviously, the first thing we need is a Lisa Gerrard woman. :D

Anyone?

After that major piece of the puzzle is found we could play on The Now camp's stage and probably Center Camp and other stages I have connections to.

Lisa, are you going to Burning Man this year?? 8)

I hope you are good because that is one hard act to follow, especially the voice Lisa has! Dead Can Dance is one of my all time favorites. Good luck though. Sounds interesting.

Definitely one of my all-time favorites, too! I first saw Dead Can Dance at Boston's Harborlights Pavillion on their Spiritchaser world tour in 1996. The young woman beside me had fangs, purple hair, and smoked clove cigarettes. I only knew one Dead Can Dance album so I was torn over the $40 ticket price. The experience turned out to be well worth it. (I now own every DCD album, although some of them are unplayable.) After the show was over we applauded until our hands were sore.

Shortly after I saw them, Dead Can Dance broke up. Both Lisa Gerrard & Brendan Perry released solo albums and Lisa was featured in many movie soundtracks (my favorite is Gladiator). There were rumors of a reunion, but I never thought it would really happen... and then they came back! They just finished a world tour. I live in LA and I drove up to the Bay Area to catch them at the Paramount Theater and then I took about 30 people with me to the Hollywood Bowl show in my Cool Bus:

I feel pretty confident in my Brendan Perry responsibilities. I sure wish I played the guitar and the hurdy-gurdy, though.

Love, Dave

Good luck with it, man. I missed their Seattle and San Francisco dates because I was in the hospital Image

But, I caught them at the Greek Theatre at Berkeley on their Spiritchaser tour, too. One's life should not pass without having the opportunity to listen to Lisa's angelic voice and see her angelic stage presence live.

I'll definitely try to catch you on the Playa! Image

That's too bad! Why were you in the hospital? (if you don't mind me asking...) .... I was in 3 hospitals successively once a few years ago because of a wild motorcycle accident.

Well, I know there's someone out there ((reading this?)) who likes to sing along with Lisa now and then. :?:

Hello?

What an amazing good time we would have! We have a venue in The Now.

I had colon cancer, I'm doing an anti-cancer jack-in-the-box for my project.

In order to avoid hijacking your thread I'll just provide links for elucidation that you can read if that be thine pleasure:

OKay, you have my attention! Maybe I can try. I can sing, and I feel I'm pretty gifted in imitation...

Gimmie some of your faves...or what you feel most comfortable playing...I'll work on it, then maybe send you a recording of my version...
