Definitely one of my all-time favorites, too! I first saw Dead Can Dance at Boston's Harborlights Pavillion on their Spiritchaser world tour in 1996. The young woman beside me had fangs, purple hair, and smoked clove cigarettes. I only knew one Dead Can Dance album so I was torn over the $40 ticket price. The experience turned out to be well worth it. (I now own every DCD album, although some of them are unplayable.) After the show was over we applauded until our hands were sore.
Shortly after I saw them, Dead Can Dance broke up. Both Lisa Gerrard & Brendan Perry released solo albums and Lisa was featured in many movie soundtracks (my favorite is Gladiator). There were rumors of a reunion, but I never thought it would really happen... and then they came back! They just finished a world tour. I live in LA and I drove up to the Bay Area to catch them at the Paramount Theater and then I took about 30 people with me to the Hollywood Bowl show in my Cool Bus:

I feel pretty confident in my Brendan Perry responsibilities. I sure wish I played the guitar and the hurdy-gurdy, though.
