Not so sure of the branding idea, and I see lots of temporary tattoos and henna mentioned by theme camps, but does anyone really tattoo on the Playa? Or would that be shut down for health code issues? I wouldn't mind having some Playa dust under my skin as a reminder lol.

Cuts on the playa take a long time to heal. Something to do with the dust. Complete healing is said to not be possible until you leave the playa. This may cause havoc with tattoo healing.
Search about playa foot.

I don't know about Inko, but I was joking...

And that ";-)" led me to believe I wasn't alone with that...

Believe me, I've read all about playa foot. And yeah, I figured it was a joke... but still. I'd probably do it if it was on the last few days.

In 2012 there was a guy branding leather and living skin with a sizzling 2 inch man effigy. He was located just two streetcrossings out from Barbie Death Camp.

Not the first, not the last... There are 60,000 stories on the dusty streets of BRC, and at least 20,000 involve body modification...

Is it that branding camp that they briefly show on the Spark Burning Man documentary movie? I already have the effigy tattoo but a brand is just so... sexy.
Can you at least admit that nuclear explosions are awesome!?

I agree, also I have a leather vest that a branding would look great on.

Maybe Bobbin remembers the exact location. We were there together with Moon.
The guy/camp was placed on a streetcorner with the iron and a heating device on a table under a shadestructure. Minimal to the point.

They neglected to mention that in the video. Takes the cool right out of it.

Oh crap, you mean this whole thing started when I slyly suggested branding? As if that image weren't a bit delicate for a branding iron!

Very slick. Would look good as a vinyl decal for glass; the white parts could be clear.

I'm branded and got the brand at BM in 2012. Still looks pretty sharp. I'll post a pic later...

Yes! My son, daughter and I got branded. The guy was just down the street from us (DWD). After we got ours we went back to camp and rounded up people to get branded

2012 I came across a guy, over on the 3 o'clock side who had a branding iron under a small shade structure, must be the same guy?

He had all these mummified salmon heads impaled on sticks on the corner, so naturally I had to talk to him. After chatting for a while he gifted me an awesome obsidian knife he had knapped. However I was not ready for the brand...

Yes, that was him. I got two brands that week.

It didn't hurt right at first. We did this on a Wednesday so it stung a bit throughout the week while trying to heal.

I will admit while on playa it was turning all sorts of ugly green/yellow within the brand outline. But it did heal nicely if I do say so.

It's utterly bizarre to me that at the skin graft recipient site, I don't really feel much. I fell down and skinned both my "knees" a few weeks back, and the huge hole in my skin is only there if I look for it...

Except I keep bleeding. The doner sites are still thin and fragile looking...

And I look at the title of this thread and think about marketing.
