First I'll say that I've wanted to attend burning man since about 2007 and now im finally joining you in 2014! The excitement I felt in my heart once my ticket was confirmed is wonderful. Before I get ahead of my self, I owe you a greeting. My name is Vanessa but Nessa, Pumpkin, or even Juanita-chakita will do. I'm 22, living in the live music capitol of the world and loving every minute of life. My profession is a pizza artist at double daves but my hobbies are endless. I'm blessed to have 2 girlfriends coming with me and hopefully one awesome guy. Us girls got our tickets before they sold out, but my other buddy was not so lucky. We are keeping faith and our fingers crossed that a ticket will appear for him!
More then anything, I'm ready to let lose and experience life as it comes to me in a whole new way. I'm not going in expecting anything special..but I'm sure I'll leave with more then I could have ever asked for. I hope to see you there, covered in dirt, with a huge smile. I'll be sure to greet you with a bear hug!

Last year I joined the STEP program really late, and a ticket became available right about the time I decided to put the trip off another year. Don't worry, I think your friend has a good chance of acquiring a ticket.

Elliot, i've read the vital information but does it change each year? What i've read so far was from 2013. I have not subscribed to Jack Rabbit Speaks, how can I go about doing that?

Vanessa, there are usually some small changes in the Survival Guide and other information, but nothing major. What's important at this stage, is that you get a good feel for the basics -- the living conditions and needs, the Ten Principles, the overall ethos.

kittyrodreiguez, thank you as well for the warm welcome! I have never been to flipside, and couldn't afford the tickets for it when it was on sale. I'm hoping next year i'll be able to stay on top of it better. Have you been?

This is our first year at flipside. I have heard tickets become available for those looking for them closer to the event, if you really wanted to go. We're excited. We've been to Burning man, but this is our first burner event with our kids. I'm looking forward to it.
