But then.. Getting to the playa. I hesrd theres a shuttle from reno to it? Or maybe carpool?

Welcome.
These are all very basic questions which have been answered many times over on this site.
Do your homework, read EVERYTHING; use google: eplaya+search term to get the answers you seek.
Radical self reliance is key.

Hello and welcome to ePlaya. Tip #1, do the required reading (first timer's guide, survival guide) and browse the boards. If you don't see something covered, ask your questions or start discussions in whatever category fits best. Good luck!
Re: FIRST TIME BURNER(: need tips"
Of course, I should've done that before asking questions. Hehe
But I also wanted to introduce myself and socialize a bit to get a little glimpse of what's to come!

That's one word I regret googling during breakfast.
.
Video games are giving kids unrealistic expectations on how many swords they can carry.
.
, but don't harm the red dragon that frequents the area from time to time. He and I have an agreement.

Indeed, you'll wanna pretend your friends aren't going at all, because people always fall by the wayside as the year progresses. If it turns out they're going though, it's good to have experienced people around.
The Burner Express can take you from Reno to the Playa. Or Green Tortoise can take you from SF. Google it for the rest. You can buy all the food and water you need in either town if you have a really good shopping list and arrive at least a day early.
Most camps do not provide sleeping accommodations. You're going to need to research a tent or shelter that suits your needs and budget or share an RV with 1 or more people. Keep looking around.
As you've seen, we can tell you hadn't read the Survival Guide when you first posted because your questions are very basic ones, so read it twice and fall down a few rabbit holes on this board. Read like crazy. Not only will you know what to ask, but people will be able to tell you're capable of working hard and taking care of yourself a little more, and be receptive to you.
The Burn is one of the most labor-intensive vacations you could possibly have.
Welcome!

Hi
Here is some ride share information that I have shamelessly plagiarized and collected over the years.

http://www.brc.toflame.com
Burning Man Rides http://www.burningmanrides.com
(not a Burning Man web site seems to be stuck in 2013)
Ridehack http://www.ridehack.com/event/24
Zimride http://public.zimride.com/ride/add?event_id=2688
Amovens http://www.amovens.com

Oh, and some quick reminders when car sharing:
1. Pitching in gas money is cool. Way cool.
2. Tickets are not being sold at the gate this year. Yes, really. Make sure everybody in the car has their ticket, or none will be allowed in the gate. Yes, really.
3. When you post to the board, be honest about who you are, what you're bringing, how much (and whether) you can share driving responsibilities, your temperment, expectations, stops you have planned on the way, and any special needs. When it comes to ridesharing, surprises suck.
4. Make sure you're comfortable with the person with whom you're driving. Bad vibe? Find another ride. Really.
5. Have fun ... you just might make a friend.
here is some bike info also
