My hernia repair began with a visit to my PCM, a referral to a general surgeon, surgery, a day in the hospital, and now recovering slowly at home. I was lucky and got the guy who also did my BC.
It was a huge fucking hernia, one of the largest he'd ever worked on in a woman. Mine resulted from a different surgery last January, different surgeon. By the time I knew I had a hernia, I wa being treated for BC so it had to wait until now.
Painful? Fuck yes, but that's what the opiates are for. Annoying being near immobile and weak and having to wear a fucking binder? Oh fuck yes.
Am I glad I had it fixed? My fucking goodness fuck yeah.
My personal opinion: Don't put it off, hernias only get bigger and more difficult to fix if left unattended.

What the fuck?! Our illustrious drunk-driving premier Campbell has just signed a contract to farm out the management of our medical services plan to a US company which means under the Patriot Act the US government now has access to all of the BC resident's personal information!!!! Gah!!! What a fucking idiot that man is! Our privacy commission has already said that doing so would violate our privacy act. I can't wait until he gets trounced in the next election! Fuck! I do not want my info in the hands of the US government.
What the fuck again?! I also heard on the news today the US is going ahead with installing biometric systems at many of the border crossings into the US, meaning customs will be taking fingerprints, followed soon I'm sure by iris scans. So far Canadians are exempt but it won't take long for us to have to do it, sooner if you aren't white.
It looks like my future burns are numbered.
Fuck! Idiots!

The Partiot Act is MAINLY about surveillance and search warrants. It used to be if they wanted to do telephone surveillance, they got a warrant to tap a SPECIFIC PHONE. If the person went to someone else's house for a week or two, they would have to get another warrant in that person's juristiction. Now they get a warrant to tap any phone the person is using. In other words, the warrant isn't for tapping a particular phone now, it is a warrant to intercept all communications by an individual no matter where or how they are made. Same with search warrants. A single juristiction can now issue a warrant to search places that might have been scattered in different areas and would have required a visit to a judge in each location.
Last time I heard a govt. official talk, he said that to date the Partiot Act had to his knowledge never been used yet. That was last summer, I think.
I am assuming you are talking about this:

Be sure to read the entire act yourself. Line the "stem cell research ban" there is a lot of distortion going on about the Patriot Act. Better to read it yourself rather than take someone else's spin on it. You can find a copy here:

Oh, and FUCK, I can't find the FRYING PAN. I have looked in EVERY cabinet in the FUCKING HOUSE and it isnt fucking here! FUCK!

The patriot act was intended to loosen procedures formerly required, to do things like surveillance, with terrorists who have been trained to evade detection. But if you think it stops there your crazy.
And one of the specific clauses involved is this:
Here's a decent overview:

All they need is to suspect a business or an individual is involved in terrorism, or in the finance of terrorism.Allows federal agents to ask a court for an order to obtain business records in national security terrorism cases.

Thanks, Joel.... opium was an all time favorite of mine years ago... never strung out, but I did enjoy it. I'll see if the local Wal-Mart pharmacy has some... that's an 'over-the-counter' item now, isn't it?
It fucking well should be (almost forgot to 'fuck')

Yes, they are organic and help to keep the masses passified. I'd love to be able to grow some myself, but that whole "Life in Prison" thing just doesn't appeal to me.Simply Joel wrote:yes, it fucking should be legal... as should marijuana... and raw coca leaves... while we are at it.samtzu wrote:Thanks, Joel.... opium was an all time favorite of mine years ago... never strung out, but I did enjoy it. Round the corner
You are amazing, as always.
Not something I could explain in half an hour or less. Not something I care to discuss in anything approaching public.
Thanks, though.
