Another Virgin looking for some love!

Post by JollyMan » Thu Feb 27, 2014 1:19 am

Hello all you wonderful people. Name is Benjamin B.E. Bink, I am 24yrs old and will be 25 for this years BurningMan! My Bday is on the 17th of August. This is my first time attending Burning Man and I am extremely excited to join the culture and participate in this extremely amazing way of life. I am making this trip alone because I want to experience it all being who I really am. (Hippie/survivalist/poet/ectectect)

I am looking for other Birgins(?) to share in an adventure and some guidance from those who are Betrens(?) People who are willing to abide by the 10 principles, people who are willing to make amazing memories and become a part of this family with me. I like the idea of theme camps, camps and the sort so I am 100% open to ideas! Please contact me via PM, or respond to this post. I will be actively prowling these forums to try and meet you all. I'm an open book! So feel free to ask anything.

Stay beautiful peoples. Blessed Be. :D

Good to hear about another Colorado newbie!

I feel very similar to a lot of what you wrote.
Big difference is if she gets tickets my Ex and my 12 yo daughter will be coming (camping elsewhere).
I'll be spending 1/2 the time with my daughter who is a very mature 12 in some ways and a little girl who needs her parents in others.
I don't think there's too many places I won't be taking her at BRC.
Otherwise I get to do the solo figure it out thing.
I'm leaning towards a camp/village where I am 80 to 100% self sufficient but have some community.
So far Hushville and Orphan Too are possibles.
Got an old friend who is putting up an art thing and will hook up with him after 30 years.
He's been 5 years now so I have a lot of Q's for him.

You'll like Orphans Too, I camped with them last year and will be back again this year. Not too loud but not too quiet either. It was the perfect camp for me and we had a lot of fun!

DO NOT BE AFRAID of camping on your own. There will be very little you have to do alone if that bothers you. When you camp, you have neighbors all around. Help them put some stuff together, give them a cold beverage, walk around and talk to them. It can be exactly like you planned to go camping with them all along.

Welcome, Benjamin! :D

You've got the right idea. Keep prowling these boards; there's almost everything you could want if you dig. People are generally willing to help as well, as long as you've made an effort first. (Google keyword + eplaya if the Search feature doesn't yield what you want.)

You'll have to join STEP and chase down those tickets. :) Get your time off, & make your shopping and packing lists anyway. Come Burn time, it's pretty hard to find a person on these boards who didn't succeed in getting a ticket if they busted their hump to do it.

Beware the veterans (beterans) who would seek to "guide" you. They are only projecting their own insecurities on you.

Lol i'm sure. I may be a future burner but I am not one to simply follow "guidance" XD Not blindly.
