Much better to have that receding into the past rather than looming up in your future. :?

*bounds in, all awake and happy*

Good morning!

Went swimming yesterday! Indoor salt water at a health club 20 miles from here, and costs just five bucks for a single visit. Sure took me a long time to get myself over there, but now I’m sold on it.
Fabulous exercise. Every muscle in the body gets a gentle workout. And if I want, I can use the gym apparatus on the same fiver.

Rant…. Swimsuit required. And what’s worse, I wore trunks, in the American style, which impede leg movement something fiercely. What a stupid fashion. Speedos ordered. (Though I will get rid of a few “winter” pounds around the middle before I wear them. Common courtesy, ya know.)

*bounds off to enjoy the day*

Good morning, all!

Sleepless nights continue.

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

I inadvertently awoke this a.m. at 3 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep. Was in bed a little after 9:30 p.m. intending to get a little EXTRA sleep, but, alas, it didn't happen.

SO, I managed to get a little something done around the house. I got the recyclables together for Friday pick-up, and got the bills sorted out. TAXES PAID! Burningman charge on the credit card, too! And I still have a little $$ left over.

IF I can finish the last of the vacuuming and get the garbage and recyclables to the curb tonight, it should be a really nice weekend. Friday night, dinner is paid - it's my buddy Don's turn. We don't worry about what we order, it works out in the long run. I'm looking forward to a bacon-covered turkey burger with extra bacon and sweet potato fries. Nom nom nom nom nom........

Woohoo for the indoor saltwater pool, Elliot, sounds like quite a find. And congrats on the taxes, Rhino!

Yesterday was ridiculously busy, but I managed to get a little time at the end of the day to tinker around with a couple models I'd made for ziggurat parts. Looks good so far, but I want to see how my little 'space invader' looks when I turn on all the rendering features. It's not something I do for every pic, since rendering a single frame takes nearly 2 hours with three beefy computers all working together on the job. It's way beyond what I need for camp planning, but a great opportunity to step up my skills and experience.

Physically. Not much sleep the last two nights, and an over active gut, albeit with false alarms...

So sorry Fishy - hope you are able to rest well tonight. I can commiserate as woke up at 4am, worried myself out of being able to get back to sleep. The 4am devils are usually not about big stuff, just the nagging dumb stuff I usually don't want to do anything about during waking hours.

It's 3am Friday, and I missed Trilo's birthday party in the Bar!! :(

Belatedly wishing you a Very Happy Birthday!!

Just got home from Flagstaff, where my son, two friends and I saw Shpongle (again!)... awesome show!!!
On the way home, going 75mph, narrowly avoided hitting two lazy-ass (large) javelina, just hanging out in the middle of the highway... woke us all up pretty well...
and a waddling spotted skunk in Cornville (appropriately named), but that was only at 35mph.
Glad to have been driving with my eyes open, and on otherwise sparsely populated roads!

Awesome cake, VultureChow!!
formerly, Triken

Happy day after birthday, Trilo - and thanks for all your work on this home for wayward cats.
Hired a cleaner for the house. She's sneezing from all the dust. Well, I did let it pile up for a long time and it's not the good kind of dust, either. Now the house will sparkle for my visiting sister.

Happy belated birthday to you, trilo!

Vulture chow: LOVE the cake. Those wouldn't possibly be Elrathia kingi (from the Cambrian Wheeler shale in Utah), would they? I know of more than a few geologists who would pay to see that as their birthday cake.

Follow-up: The house is CLEAN from one end to the other. ALL the garbage and recyclables hit the curb, and now I have a wonderful weekend to look forward to. My next major presentation will be in a week and a half, and it's in the can. I'll be giving a lecture to the local retirement continuing education community on the importance of geology in the highway construction process, and the achievements that our section has made towards that goal. I get to talk for an hour and I've got just about every major project I've been on since 2005 highlighted.

That in addition to preparations for the BRC Division of Geology for 2014.

Finally collapsed at home last night and got nearly 8 hours of sleep. I'm almost awake this morning writing this, but I have a full thermos of :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:
