'Drunk Posting' is a Necessary Evil

I occasionally like to get on here and add my 2¢ to some thread or other. OK. Sometimes it makes no sense, (even to me when I come back later). It's a long-held tradition to post during 'happy hour'. I just thought that instead of having to post a warning before I start typing, I would instigate a whole new venue. Come for the laughs, stay for the content. It's not as interesting as the Mayans playing Head Ball. But it IS better than one more 'What tent is best?' or 'I'm coming for the first time and any help would be appreciated". My theory is that if all the drunks stay off in the corner people won't have to trip over em.

I hated the hot flashes. Well, hated is too strong a word, and it was mostly being annoyed by all the sweating. But I loved being able to go outside when it was cold (and I know that you get worse cold in Utah) and not need a fleece. That was brilliant. I seem to have taken after my mother and had an easy time, whereas my oldest sister had a harder time.

So, does spellcheck help you learn to spell, or is it just an annoyance?

So far my hot flashes are brief, and no sweat. Just an overwhelming envelope of heat in which I cannot get a decent breath. Just a few minutes at most. I can be chilled and overheated simultaneously. I am often confused.

Sobriety is SO over-rated.

I think it inspires poetry.
Look at Edgar Allen Poe - or maybe that's a bad example.

Recall that alcohol releases inhibitions... but does not create inspiration.
If you are inspired - post on the "My mind is awhir" thread. Sobriety is definitely not a requirement.

It turns out the cure for sobriety is very similar to the cure for hiccups. And in an odd but pleasing symmetry, rapid drinking of ethanol induces hiccups. Maybe we can call this the Circle of Strife...
