Hello from Australia!

Post by CocoKiora » Sun Feb 09, 2014 5:23 am

Hi there!

My name is Ivy and I'm an ABC! (Australian Born Chinese). I have pink hair too!

I've had my first taste of Burning Man through an Australian version of you guys called 'Burning Seed'.

I had no idea what to expect the first night, wandered off with a friend into a seedy looking nightclub tent known as 'Trash Mansion'.
We both stood there amongst the thriving atmosphere and stared at a line of people giving each other massages. It looked welcoming.
Then a guy in a tiger costume came out of nowhere and started gyrating on everyone. This looked iiiiineresting... Then he approached me.
I stood there while he did his thing, got embarrassed then ran out

We found each other the next day, apologised for his 'evil' twin, then we smoked a vaporizer from a sheep's behind.
& I LOVED IT!!

I plan to travel solo this year to the big mac event, and its has ALWAYS been my dream to come to the States.

I've browsed a few theme camps to join, and ¡Camp Zoom! looks pretty amazing.

Can anyone help me out with other active theme camps that are going this year?
Links would be awesomely helpful too!

Peace & blessings <3

Welcome to ePlaya, Ivy!
I hope you know that pink hair requires that you post a picture of said hair.
You give the impression you have not yet realized how large Burning Man is. But stick around here, and we will get you dialed in. Be sure to read the First-Timer Information, and specially the Survival Guide. And sign up for Jack Rabbit Speaks also. :D

How is it I've lived in Oz my whole life and have never heard of ABC? LOVE IT! :D

Good on ya for doing the Burning Seed thang. I love a good gyration from an old dude.

I'm heading over from Sydney and am a first timer too. Would love to join a camp - keep us posted on which one you join, as I'll be hunting too.

Ivy and others interested in joining theme camps...ya gotta do the work. Theme camps don't always send out general invitations for just anyone to join...some do, but most don't. One must sift thru the hundreds of camps listed under the Theme Camps banner and distill it down to a few that seem to be a fit with your interests, skills, and finances.

Then one must contact the camp organizers and sell yourself. Theme camps often require commitments of time, money, specific skills and the ability to play well with others. There are lots of camps from which to choose...choose wisely.
