Hey Everyone! Y'all serve Texan's in this here bar??? Line 'em up!
I am jealous of the talk of things blooming and growing. My grass burrs and weeds are going to be extremely healthy this year.
I am working tonight, a concert at the theatre, and just stepped outside for a break to see half of Lubbock blowing around in the air. Thanks, Lubbock...
Anyway, too bad I don't have my goggles and dust mask with me. I'm sure the Escalade driving, junior leaguery types in the audience would love that....fuckem..
Ok, back to popping corn.
Cheers!

Yep, we'uns serve Texans hyar.

Theys good people. Pardon the Misery accent.

Lucky you with dust in the air. I've got two weeks until hell begins. The giant ragweed pollen season is about to begin. If we're lucky this year, we won't get any Kansas tumbleweeds blowing overf the border.

Good morning all.
Picture of last weekends dust storm at Trego hot springs.
Can barely see the sun. It was not that windy, but very dusty.

Ygmir, thank you.

That song brings back wonderful memories. My high school went an undefeated 12-0 in 1975 in football, and they played that song after every game. At the end of the season, we heard Queen's "We are the Champions" to end the season with the State AAA football title, the highest rated team in Tennessee high school history, second only nationally to Cinncinnati Moeller High School in Ohio. Not bad for a public school. We had monsters of the gridiron on that team, both in the offensive front four and on the defense, playing out of a pro set veer offense that confounded opponents, including ones that were bigger than us. Highly mobile backs and deadly accurate passing made that season a winner. The defense scored every game, too.

Good morning to all.

Sadie, the tequila I'm talking about is not cheap, like Jose Cuervo. That stuff is just a bar brand in my opinion, and I refuse to drink it. It ranks with Pepe Lopez, Montezuma, and "Always Save" brand "TEQUILA" out of the plastic jug. Milagro Romance three years ago ran me $125/fifth. They don't normally have my everyday tequila here in Missouri, a brand I pick up in Nevada called "Corralejo" in an extra-tall blue bottle. I'd like to get a bottle of El Presidente, the stuff I had in Tucson a few years back. One shot cost me $14.00, and the first place I felt it was my toes. Amazing brand.

From my Tennessee upbringing, I still won't touch Kentucky bourbon. Nothing is better than Jack Daniels or George Dickel brands, which are charcoal mellowed, unlike Kentucky bourbon. Smooth sippin' Tennessee whiskey.

Of course, we also had moonshine up in the mountains, and some of that stuff was lethal. Literally. Some of the young kids who were in the business just to make money used old radiators as condensers in their stills. Lead from radiator solder would get in the whiskey, and you'd either go blind or die from lead poisoning. Poison whiskey to be sure.

I was never an athlete. My dad thought I should be working and carrying rocks if I had that much energy. Other than hunting and 4 wheeling as a kid.
My volleyball career was as an adult.

Talk about crossover, yggy, the position I played on the soccer team was.....fullback.

The worst of it all was that one time I got put in at a different position...left wing, when I'm right footed. It made for a trip sliding into the mud every time I took a shot on goal, landing normally on my face. Interesting followthrough, but it would actually hook the kick to where it would appear to be headed straight towards the outside of the net, and then take a left turn and go right it behind the goalie's back. I had the last laugh, covered in mud.

As a kid, I didn't do much sports, but as an adult I did a lot more, expecially basket ball and running.
Back in 04 I was deployed to the Gulf area during the war. I was running 2 miles a day, and would cool off afterwards at the basketball courts. I would be asked if I wanted to play a full court game, and I would say yes.
At the time I was there I was 43 years old, pretty old in military circles, and most of the guys playing full court games were in their early 20's.
So I would go out to play with all these youngsters, they would always put a heavier, out of shape smoker to guard me. I would run the first 5 minutes without hardly stopping, getting him breathing hard and tired. Then I would dash to the rim for open, easy layups.
Worked for a while until they got wise.
