I learned to snowboard at 45. I fell down a lot, got hurt, then got back on the board. I'm sure glad I kept with it and look forward to the snow every year now.

Life is so boring if you never step outside your comfort zone & take a chance every once in a while. Wear a helmet, fall down & get embarrassed a few times, & then enjoy biking the rest of your life.

One alternative that no one has mentioned yet is rickshaw. If you can get someone to haul you around all week that would be much easier than walking.
Cultural appropriation? Do I go over to your house during one of your BDSM sessions and slap the Nazi SS officer hat off of your head? - Bob

I brought a kickbike a couple years, not as nice as this one (image from http://kickbike.com/kickbike-scooters/, mine was homemade), but worked nicely...these things seem not so well known in the USA yet. Kind of like an adult kiddy scooter, light and fun. It worked really well to get around on the playa.

Has anyone considered a velocipede.. For people that can not balance or pump..

Strip the peddles/sprock.. Add a padded chest bar.. Could even motorize it..

Irish mail cart, maybe?

Pull with the arms while bracing with the legs. Looks pretty stable to me.
When he lights his streetlamp, it is as if he brought one more star to life, or one flower.
When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
That is a beautiful occupation.
