Believe it or not, Dickel now has a RYE whiskey. I can't wait to try it.

Taking it easy right now in The Big Easy. Wyndham French Quarter. There is still some bourbon left on Bourbon Street, but I'll give it a shot in about an hour.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
yeah funny how sometimes as adults we pick up sports.
I played a lot of indoor, but really enjoyed outdoor sand and grass doubles.
Even got an offer to play in the senior olympics a few times. ah well.
Seems at one time we were all posting old photos of ourselves and one from a doubles tournament I was in made it......haha
what fun, 40 lbs. ago!
and here's some photos for Figjam:
a torque multiplying lug wrench I had told him about.......sorta cool:

Wow. I remember a time I sure could have used that wrench out on the road, many years ago!
That said, I'm not sure I see how it would work on inner versus outer nuts. If that one turns the outer nut by locating on the inner....? Is there a corresponding tool for the inner nut? Or....?

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
IIRC, you jam one of the bars between the outer and the ground, and turn the smaller outer gear with another bar, thus turning the inner nut.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
I don't see where you would attach a bar to the housing, in order to turn the shaft and inner nut. But.... Like most tools, once you have it in your hand, things usually become obvious. And I do have two winch bars.

Ah, tools. Posting pics of tools on the internet.... could be worse.
MyLarry used to run moonshine, but other than it was in WV long ago, I am not sure about the details. I have tried that hillbilly shine, wowza. Not made in car radiators!
What I did learn to drink on, right before I joined the Navy, was the home distilled stuff the Brits made in Saudi. Called it Squeak, mixed it with Tang in big waters coolers. By the end of that summer, I could outdrink most normal humans. Even after I finished boot camp that winter, being dry for a few months, there was not a another newbie sailor who could hold their own against me. Much bad decision making ensued. That was fun.

Hi AntiM! ha...........What fun it would have been to have met all those years ago. I had a particular semi immunity to alcohol, myself.
Yeah tools........I hope FJ sees that, too. Him and Elliot are about the brightest bulbs here when it comes to stuff like that. I love to hear what they say.
I've used the tool on my Deuce and a halves. I'd have to stand there with the bars to remember how to work it, though. Trial and error, as usual.

inner nuts and shafts... tool porn indeed.
I miss many dear friends who have passed through my life, and alcohol is on that list. Some tools don't last.
We had an annual fiesta which many of us called "Fiasco" and tequila figured large. They weren't rounding up drunks and hauling them off in those days. I recall the voices of police hovering above, with me sitting on the street. Luckily, my friends were nearby that night to pack me into the car.

Hello All,
Ah, the memories of alcohol induced bad decision making days...! Good times!! Too bad I can't use alcohol for an excuse any more.. I am now most likely to be a designated driver...not always...but usually. There is fun to be had with recounting stories to the drivee...
Hope everyone has a great week-end.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
On the topic of bad decision-making pertaining to alcohol.... In this county we have a campaign and an event called Sober Grad. Its purpose is to keep the high school graduates from drinking. Sober Grad costs a bit of money to organize, so there will soon be held a fund raising dinner. At this fund raiser there will be served alcohol. (facepalm)

Pandorra and I got over to the opera's costume thing, chatted with a bunch of wonderful people while we queued, and found a bunch of great pieces. I can't wait to see what they turn into between now and August...

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
Did a search for "Compound lug wrench" and came up with several for about $50.
From1:17 to 1:32 ratios and claims that a 12 yr old can remove any lug nut with these.
More compact that Ygs as they brace against the rim or the next lug instead of the ground.
