Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
I heard on the radio today that bacon is good for you. It contains a B vitamin that supposedly tricks your body into thinking that you just exercised.

whatevah
i eat it because it transports me to the playa

Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
I renewed my gym membership. Now I just have to dig out the bus schedules, find my swim suit and remember my lock combo.
Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
I was highly motivated by this topic. So today I got up at 6 am to do some general fitness stuff before starting to work on my thesis, rope skipping and such. Only I really had to go to the bathroom. But my flatmate was already in there taking a shower. Took him half an hour to get done. Needless to say I was in a most unfit state to do anything but wait. Once he was done any thought of any type exercise was long erased from my mind.
The bottom line is: I'm out before I was even in.
You guys will just have to be contend with my body-as-it-is instead of what-might-have-been at the meet & greet.

No need to worry, Kat. If, on that day, you find yourself suddenly in need of 30 lbs quickly, stop by my camp on the way and you can have all of my extras. No charge, and no need to worry abut returning it. Ever. (I'm just a give-give/never-take kind of guy. Heheheh)*Kat* wrote: You guys will just have to be contend with my body-as-it-is instead of what-might-have-been at the meet & greet.

I was paleo for about a year. It works. Lots of energy and you never feel like you are starving since you can eat as much as you want.Ugly Dougly wrote:Been getting interested in the Cave Man Diet. Has anyone tried this?
Vegetables and fruits, raw or steamed, small animals, baked or roasted, an occasional large animal (when shared with tribe members), few grains, lots of nuts, no sugar, but some honey. Just what was on the menu 100,000 years back!
Dropped about 20 lbs and then decided I wanted to eat food again. I still do it about 75% of the time, just try to avoid alot of the things you aren't supposed to eat on it. Not nearly as religious about it as I was when I lived in SD. Seattle has too much good food to limit your options.

Re: ePlaya Fitness Club
Also, I am going to (attempt) doing hot yoga 2-3 times a week. I lift, run and do other cardio, but there is just something about yoga that kicks my ass into amazing shape. Flexibility is there, joint pain gone, fat busted... it's insane. Amazing how much quicker I get in shape than killing myself on a treadmill/weights for 60 minutes a day.
Plus I want to do yoga on the playa. It looks like a religious experience in and of itself.

Working two jobs. I quit my job as a personal trainer so that I could eventually live like a normal person and maybe meet someone new (GF of 4 years broke up with me in December, remember). It turns out it's tough to be conventionally social when you work 5 AM to 9 AM and 5 PM to 9 PM while also working Saturday and Sunday.aserendipity wrote:Fossa, where are you??

For now, though, I'm still transitioning out of my job at the gym and setting my clients up with replacement trainers while also working my new job which is helping to design and build equipment used to research cancer/auto-immune diseases. I worked from 6:30 AM to 8 PM today with 0 real down time, just two 15 minute breaks to scarf down terrible food and 20 minutes to shower at the gym before seeing clients in the evening so that I didn't smell like epoxy, ozone, and solder fumes.
I'm still checking in periodically and I'll give whatever advice I can, but I'm a tired, tired boy.

Your new job sounds wonderful & fascinating, but I hope things calm down soon, and you're able to concentrate strictly on new things.
Don't worry about us. Anyone who wants tons of good advice from you can read back a few pages to tide themselves over.

Part time clean eater/part time raw vegan. I spend two weeks of every month doing both
I run 1-2 times a week (sometimes not at all) outside weather permitting. Lift the weights 4-5 days a week and occasionally utilize my T25 workouts with a friend. My ultimate goal is to compete in a fitness contest.

I'm still here. And I have lost several pounds in the last few days. Reason is... I am under the weather and have no appetite. So... losing fat is the silver lining to being ill.

Hope you are soon feeling well Elliot
this fat issue is troubling me a bit
at Precompression I took notice of the many skinny hard working people we have
yet now that I am acknowledging bacon lust I am never going to be that thin
