Re: 2014 Honorarium Art Installations List
Not sure how to parse the attribution on the Wheel of Fortune artists. Is it Anne Steveley and Jill Sutherland? Is it Anne, Jill Staveley, and a bloke named Sutherland? Is Anne Staveley-Sutherland and Jill Staveley-Sutherland?...Anne & Jill Staveley & Sutherland...
Possibly a typo?

Not that it's an actual $5, because I'm sure that gamboling gambling is not permit on this site.

Re: 2014 Honorarium Art Installations List
I have no idea. There are a couple possible typos on the list that I've asked about. If or when I hear back I'll pass it along and update the list, or it may get clarified when the Honorarium Art Grant list gets fleshed out on the main site.

Re: 2014 Honorarium Art Installations List
It impresses me deeply to see that people from England and Lithuania are on the list. I have a hard time just remembering all the stuff I need to bring on the plane, and I probably could not do BM at all if I did not have a base camp in California. I wonder how these people do it - shipping containers? Arrive months in advance?
I can't wait to see all the art! Thanks to all the artists for all the time and energy you put into your creations. You make Burning Man so much more special!
Also something that just came to my mind (and that I really ought to know by now): Is there a map of the individual installations? I don't recall ever having seen one...

A map is included with the little packet you get when you go through greeters. It's attached to the www booklet

Yep, and you can also visit the Artery located somewhere along the inner ring near Center Camp and look at the big board, where newly arriving art receives their placement assignments as well.lucky420 wrote:A map is included with the little packet you get when you go through greeters. Re: 2014 Honorarium Art Installations List
By Friday the Greeters ran out of maps. When you initially come in, please only take as many maps and books as you will need. The Greeters should say, " How many books would you like"? Instead of, " How many people in your RV"? It was sad when the late arrivals didn't even get a map.

What fabulous prizes has the fish won today? Or would she hypothetically have won, were we gambling, which we aren't?Updated website wrote:

Re: 2014 Honorarium Art Installations List
I've updated the list at the top of this thread with links to projects (including links that weren't on the honorarium page for a couple projects I'm familiar with), and correcting of names, spellings, and cities. If you have a URL for a public page or site for a project that doesn't currently have one, please send me a PM and I'll get it added to the list above.

Re: 2014 Honorarium Art Installations List
How much was spent on direct art grants to honorarium recipients this year? I can't seem to find a total anywhere. Thanks for any help!

Re: 2014 Honorarium Art Installations List
Look at previous years' afterburn report (on the main site). That will give you some idea of what they spent in the past, and you can extrapolate for a slightly bigger population. Or, it wont be there at all, and you can guess that it's not something they reveal.
