I looked it up, its a protected park that doesnt let you harvest the glass.

Drove over to Vicksburg, MS Friday afternoon , put in on the Yazoo River diversionary canal, went up-river a mile or so, and set out 14 trot lines (140 hooks total).

Went back Saturday afternoon, ran the hooks and ended-up with 58 lb. of catfish fillets: of which 10 lbs. were fried (finger-cut size) and vacuum packed this evening for delectable dining for BM 2014.

The (spring/summer) vegetable garden, which was planted a week ago, has broken ground and is well on its way to supplying a mixed variety of vegetables.

Nothing like allowing Mother Nature to feed the soul and the body - at the same time.

Monkeystyle, thanks for the info. I would love to know where you found that Benicia's glass beach is protected. I assume you are talking about John's Beach at the end of 6th. In the past 35 years I've built walkways with rounded bricks and other scavenged finds. After the Great Earthquake the barges of rubble were brought there and dumped. It's a jewel for beach walking. There are about 10 spots I frequent. I don't bring home any glass because it's too easy and there is too much of it. I can't find anything written that prohibits taking glass from the beaches. It's not important but I googled like crazy and came up empty.

Here's the fleece I'm going to use for my new Playa coat. It'll be loose for layering and have plenty of pockets! I wish I'd gotten more of it last year. They don't have it anymore and I'd like to make a longer coat than I have fabric for. Oh well, lesson learned. When you see it...buy it!

That bottom one is FAB! You put everything in that I like to see on a BM sticker. It'll get my vote. Or I should say, one of my votes. Last year I voted against the sticker that looked like an airplane engine part.

Of course it got picked and used so maybe my vote isn't the best one to ge

Got the machine up and running after some delicate computer work on an ancient desktop and the first prototypes of the dog tags are done.

Didn't use these blanks last year cause they were a little scuffed, but I'm probably the only one who would notice.

Maybe I'm just a rebel or something, but I really like the symmetry and colours of the first sticker. This is not to say I don't like the second... but I think I prefer the first. They're both really nice!

They say first year burners don't have to (and for crying out loud I have a pretty full plate) but I do feel a bit...outclassed here.
