Thanks for the heads-up! Grabbed three sets -- they'll be great clipped to my van. Or me.

Harbor Freight. Sort of a mini big box wannabe type place. They usually have good prices, but questionable quality. I have not had bad luck with any purchases from there, but I have not bought any power tools...just bungee cords, flashlights, caribiners, etc...

I'm at HF 3 or 4 times a week. They have FREE shit coupons in the mail, the newspaper, the magazines etc... I have about 20 or 30 various led flashlights to gift. No purchase necessary. If you get a great coupon in the mail, stop by the PO on the way home. (The one that has PO boxes). The trash can is full of free coupons. If you need a set of free screwdrivers, really nice measuring tape, cheap tarp, cheap rope, leather gloves, clamps, multimeters, magnetic bowl, scissors etc... HF gives it away. Buy their low quality products at your own risk.

on the other hand I have something like 8 sets of 40 bulb battery powered white LEDs, one set of purple 30 bulb, one set of 30 green, and between all the separate strands..... probably 35' of EL wire.... plus flashlights, lamps, and head lamps.... so no worry not being seen... also finished my playa coat yesterday with 160 white LEDs inserted in an old fur coat

Went camping this weekend, and used one of my camp chairs for the first time since the burn. When I unfolded it out fell...a cloud of dust and....a digital camera!!! (not mine). Turns out it belongs to a campmate who just assumed it was lost forever. A little playa magic in May :)

I spent three hours tonight in the garage, sorting camp gear, and grouping all the burning man stuff, and project stuff. My hands are playafied.
why so many...
hats?
solar garden lights?
batteries?
speaker wires?
tent stakes?
pieces of "nice" wood?
real sturdy cardboard tubes something might be made from?
bike tires?
short handled moop rakes and picker up pincher tools?
So, to some I would say, I can't have too many. To some, I will say, those are going to be gifted to some camp who uses them (I will ask first.)
Some, I never used this and "adios muchachos."
I found a few surprises, things I forgot about: an eternal battery operated week killer product pouring display, one gallon pouring continuously into another one gallon. I think I was going to soak the labels off, maybe put some lights inside.

LED replacement bulbs for some flashlights came today in the mail. 2 cell, and 3-4 cell. hopefully my hat lamp will stay on longer this year. Three batteries a night, and it was dim in a few hours.

Have been playing with the branding iron and trying to come up with some unique gifts to make with it.

My mind at first thought - OUCH! and then thought back to the recent "branding" thread.

Depending on the dimensions you could hand out branded marshmallows.
The next morning you will wake up pretty much your old self except that a very unusual 16 hours will have been added to your store of life experience.

Interesting idea, but it is too big for that and I was thinking more along the lines of swag to make ahead of time and ship out to my hotel. Have done some on leather and will be experimenting on wood slabs this weekend.

And of course I'll have the actual branding iron on the playa.

Who was looking for a picture of a camels butt? I found my new moop bag in the laundry. I knew I had a butt around here somewhere.

Found a local Vet Burner to "adopt" me, give me a ride & let me camp with his band of hooligans.
also started walking 2 miles daily through the local dunes to get my a** in better shape.
Now back to branding....mmmm marshmallows!

Great Idea, but as you know I live on beer and Beefaroni right out of the can all week. Although this year I will remember a can opener in case they change the packaging again.

Since I don't even bring a stove, raw steak might be a bit off putting for most folks.

Our regional is in early June so right now my focus is on that. Of course much of what I do there is just a trial run for later this year ;)

Today I adjusted the bust area of a corset, but it still isn't quite right. I'll have to confer with my other craft-minded burner friends to figure out the final solution. I also finished a fuzzy fun poncho to throw over my shoulders when things cool down. It turned out great.

Tag team with MDF or someone who does.

Because grinding it up to make Beefstake Tartar will ruin the brand.

Well apparently it has been a day to get shit done. Booked unaccompanied tickets for my kids to go visit grandma while mama goes to play in the desert. Booked my hotel rooms in Wendover for there and back (and yay for a great price on a suite post-burn which includes a private jacuzzi).

Had a talk with traveling buddy about how we will get to the burn given the huge uncertainty surrounding where we will each be living come August. The plan is to wait a few months and then contact local burner listserves with an offer of our vehicle pass and gas money in exchange for a rideshare. I dislike not having a firmer plan but overall am not too worried; we pack light and are flexible.

Slow week at work, so it give me some chance to get caught up.

I think I finalized my Exodus swag. Need to clean it up a bit, but here's the basic design for the bumper stickers.

New to the thread, but excited about the progress I've made on my Playa Trike. Got my welding down to a point where I can start actually building the frame, and have the first four pieces rough cut and ready to be fit up for welding! Building the Atomic Zombie Cargo trike, if any are curious.

Also, have a Playa Fly ~60% finished.
