Oh... they have def started. I actively practice lucid dreaming and am pursuing astral projection (much harder). I realized I was dreaming because I was in a little plane with the door open looking down at burning man, with no idea how I got here. A total stranger, an older man with a short grayish beard who I felt like I'd know all my life hands me a parachute and asks if I was ready. I already knew what to do from there. Jumped right out, flipped like I did when I went skydiving and dove headfirst into center camp. I haven't even been yet and it was so real, I could feel the dust in my nose. It was the most real dream I have ever had in my life. Crazy... can't even imagine what they will be like once I actually go.

I went out to put some trash in my dumpster only to find that my insane 45 yr. old niece that certainly ought to know better, has thrown away 28 JINGLE BELLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What the fuck are parents teaching their children that they could think that throwing away 28 FUCKING JINGLE BELLS was OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was this close to severely chastising her!!!

Figjam, Today I was working on some conchos made from beer caps. The idea is to Dap them in my handy dapper, drill a hole in the center and on two opposite sides of center. Then in the center I attach 3 tiny jingle bells. They'll be musical and lovely. If I use ones from foreign countries I can pretend I'm in keeping with the theme.

We were going to throw away a bunch of old fabrics, so I decided to dye them instead and use them for this year's camp decorations.











Enough fabric for oriental flags... and oriental bunting... and a tent cover to attach all the solar LEDs to. For a total cost of € 6 (for the dye).

Local Burner Bazaar today. Wasn't sure if I should make the drive down there. Woke up this morning and felt like I must make the trip. Walked in and saw it immediately. Tried to make myself look at everything else first - I'm always disappointed because it is never the right size. Finally couldn't help walking over and shockingly, it was my size. But forced myself not to try it on because they usually go for well over what I could manage today. Kept shopping at other tables, but my eyes kept wandering back to it. Walked over and tried it on, perfect fit. But no price tag (and the other stuff at this table was a little spendy for me). Deep breath - "how much is this?". I think my heart stopped when she told me. I had to force myself to breath - the price was extremely right.

And now I have it. my precious. A pink suede jacket with pink fur at the collar and cuffs. Definitely been to the playa before, you can feel it. Thank you universe.

I don't need to find another costume piece. I'm done.

(Also picked up a couple of pairs of fishnets and some long red gloves).

I love it when a plan comes together. Congrats on the find. I can 'feel' your post as written. I do that too. The thing I want is over there....I have to work up to it. For you it was just meant to be. Now you can't stop smiling and you'll be so warm tonight, sleeping in it. Don't get sauce on it at dinner time. Remember to push the sleeves up when you brush your teeth in the morning. Tell your boss you're coming down with a bug. It's best to keep the chill off. I'm happy for you.

AfricanFire: Such a great story! It sounds just like the acquisition of my top hat last year. I saw it, fell in love with it... and knew I just had to get it but I also knew it would be way too expensive (antique in perfect condition, even the beaten up ones cost so much). I hung around the flea market for hours, lingering around the guy's table, checking if he'd had sold it yet... not daring to ask how much he wanted.

In the end he was really glad to get rid of it - cause it would not fit anyone who had asked. Got it really cheap too for what it is. Now I feel bad for dragging it out in the dust, but really - where else can I wear a top hat...

camped on the playa this weekend and tested them out for 2 nights.
They worked great, pretty bright.

They never stop either - every time I sleep anyplace other than my default world bed I wake up thinking I'm on the playa (well possibly more like half awake sleep walking). I happened again this weekend while camping, my wife woke up in the middle of the night while I was standing in the middle of my tent and asked what I was doing. I asked if I was on the playa and she said yes, so I got back in bed and went back to sleep. This never happens to me on the playa though.

Going "all in" on Lag Screws today.
We tried them out on the playa this past weekend.
18" x 1/2". One at each corner of the carport (right next to the legs).
Ratchet strapped from the top corners to chain links in the bolts.
Solid.
