2nd Burn. Want to contribute more. Where do I?
Not sure where to post this request....
I am sure someone out there will politely tell me to read something....LOL.
I want to host an activity. Not a theme camp. Just a simply off the grid, low key activity. However, I do want it listed in the brochure.
Any info would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Kirbo
P.S. In need of 2 tickets and a vehicle pass.....in my defense, I was sick on 2/26, which was my birthday, so take pity on a sweet soul....(yes I'm in STEP but very impatient!:))

That's difficult, because to be in the book, you have to have a location that can be put in there. Reach out to camps that might be a fit for that activity. Many, or at least some, camps would love to have an extra thrown in.
Once you get it, wait for the book to open--June/July?--and jump in when it does open. I'm sure we're only a couple of years from having that almost as bad as the tickets for narrow windows.
If you don't get in the book, have a bunch of signs ready to post with your camp name or host camp name, and fill in address when you have it. Then post in neighborhood and around center camp--playa info at least.

Is it an activity that has to be carried out in a camp or set location? Or is it something mobile?
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

I guess it could be mobile, if I had a set place to meet, etc.

In that case, you can bring it to an address. Like the man or one of the plazas, or a placed camp.

You know it is a shame that SPARK is not referenced enough on this board. We have had this post on SPARK for 4 months now for people like the OP.

Just hope they are not like the other 4 responders this year, all of whom sent replies illustrating what they would like to do and then went silent when we replied asking some basic questions.

We're already there - only the first 1500 events submitted go into the published book, all the rest go in the online version. There are waaaaaaay more in the online version than the printed, and luckily there are apps now that download that so you can have it on your phone without needing a connection. Just update right before you leave for the playa.theCryptofishist wrote:Once you get it, wait for the book to open--June/July?--and jump in when it does open. As for address - if you're not in a placed theme camp, there is no way to have a specific address. What you can do is give an estimate of where you expect to be: "Camp Hokey Pokey, near 8:15 and J, look for the orange and white flags". Make sure you have someone entering on Monday, have them aim for that area. The further back you make it, the more likely you are to get it, but watch for the official map to make sure you don't put yourself where a themecamp is actually going to go.
Please feel free to reference SPARK as much as you like. It's a great resource, especially for looking for/ finding performance spaces.zorro sings wrote:You know it is a shame that SPARK is not referenced enough on this board. We have had this post on SPARK for 4 months now for people like the OP.

You can also staple notices to the sign and hand-sanitizer posts around the city. Use some decent card-stock and enough staples (staple gun) make sure they won't fly away.

And go get them when you are finished. An adventure in itself.BBadger wrote:You can also staple notices to the sign and hand-sanitizer posts around the city. Use some decent card-stock and enough staples (staple gun) make sure they won't fly away.

I'm giving this a nudge to the Q&A board, since that's a better fit for general preparation discussions.

Looks like word of mouth is the best this late in the game. I will not post signs....I don't want to try to remember where I put them...hehe.
