We took Gray Shit to the vet today to see if she had a broken tooth.
She was ANGRY last week, didn't eat, didn't bathe, didn't want to be touched. She favored one side of her mouth. Did I mention she was angry? Poor kitty, I bribed her with tuna juice and evap milk. She only just started eating wet kitty food the last 4 days.
So I made an appt w the vet to see if she'd broken a tooth again.
Today, the vet looked over her teeth. There's one that has swelling from periodontal disease (brush her teeth? I like my skin).
She's ok. She's eating well, even dry kitty food.
It was a rough week for all of us. But she'll be ok. I'll just keep an eye on her as I usually do.
She needs to eat more bird brains with the hard, crunchy shell. That'll learn her.

Nooze update: Gray Shit woke up way early again wanting to eat. She went into the bathroom where food is (in a diatomaceous-earth tray). No yelling, no hissing. Maggie even came in after GS was finished, and GS ignored her. Whew! We're making progress!

Damn Cat brought a squirrel in the house and turned it lose.. I heard it scream in the hallway.. Got up to look.. The damn cat was so proud he dropped the thing to say meow to me.. It run under the grate in the fire place.. Got hm with the grabbers and out the door.. Pulled the cat back into the house by his tail.. Now he is on my lap wanting a treat for being a good kitty.

Did you see the cat on MSNBC that took a dog out for hurting a kid.. Damn Cat was ON that dog long before mom could react..

(Somehow my cats were always annoyed by cameras, so the only good pictures I have of them is while they were asleep.)

The cuteness is just a facade (and this thread is largely all one big excuse to share cuteness and silliness that cats bring into our lives). In Squippy's case (one of Trinity's nicknames, Squippy = squid + puppy), she got me up at 3am to play fetch, then by the time 6am rolled around she was racing around the house and terrorizing our other cat. I'd just hear the little one bounding up the stairs at full speed, loud growling and hissing, and then she'd bound down the stairs again and flying around the loft. Naturally, once I started fiddling with the new camera, she found time to sit still for a few minutes. She owes me four more hours of sleep, dammit.

She is a damn cat because she pees on my bed when she's mad at me and shreds paper when she wants to be fed. She's living with my mum these days because she seems happier there but I miss her so very much.

It has been cool enough for Gray Shit to sleep with me for the last couple days.Last nite she walked over me and licked my arm before she went to sleep. She hasn't bitched much when I move. The only thing that has changed is because of her weight I'm feeding her anything that she'll eat - catnip flavored kitty treats. we call them stoner snacks. It's expensive but she'll eat about 1/4 cup of it at a time. She presented me with a dead vole this morning, so I know she's supplimenting her diet. She's so skinny, I worry about her. Maggie on the other hand is getting so fat that I have to monitor her eating.Go figure.

I just saw Jackson Galaxy's post about the cat from hell. That cat needed drugs seriously. I think that Gray Shit needs a LOT of alone time kitty attention but that's not possible right now. Maggie won't leave her alone. It's a daily stressor. So we load her up with catnip every night. Sigh.

We've got daily stresses between our two cats too. The kitten wants to play and interact with anyone and anything, and our older cat's idea of interaction with the kitten is to take naps in different sides of the same room. The damned kitten is often really wound up after the morning humans routine, and within a few minutes of my gf leaving for work I hear the older cat howling and growling at the kitten upstairs. They 'fight nice' in that there aren't any claws or teeth, but I know that when the older cat's making those noises she's unhappy and stressing out. I usually end up having to chase down the kitten and giving her a few minutes' "time out" in the gulag (bathroom). 5 minutes later I open up the door and she's laying comfortably on the bathroom rug, and back to her non-manic state. I think the damned cat really enjoys that routine.

Damn cat....He got up to eye level with me... He had something on he eye.. I wanted to look closer, but he said "bite you".. It was a nail husk.. Don't know if it was his or someone elses.. Got him to the vet just as they were closing.. It was sticking in the lower lid and laying against the eye.. Anyway hes ok and got the worm med for good measure.. damn cat
