You're welcome. It's a lovely picture. I got it off a list of "X places You'd Rather Be". A lot of them seemed to be hot tubs. And most seemed inaccessible. But this seemed almost playa-like, so I thought I'd share.

Yay for hardwood! My hardwood floors need refinishing. Not likely to happen soon, with all the clutter in there.

And you fuckos can shut your filthy mouths right this minute or I'm turning this bus around.

I'm back - we had so much fun in Reno! Nilasnake and Killbuck were awesome hosts and guides, showing us not only what was going on with the Morris but also the Generator. Sideshow was even more fun in person than it looks online ;)

I snapped loads more pictures, some of which I still have to go through, but still managed to not get pictures of so many awesome things and great people. We got to meet and chat with Lucky420, Piney, and TITWI from ePlaya and lots of other great folks from elsewhere. I wish we could have come earlier and stayed later to be more involved with setup and teardown. Just like with the playa, you see so many people throwing in and making herculean efforts to create something special, and can't help but want to be a part of that. It was a great party and terrific fundraiser, I hope they raised a bundle towards getting the hotel done up right. We saw a few of the completed rooms and...wow.

Good Morning Everyone. :coffee: :coffee:

Cool pics Trilo - looks like a good time was had by all.

Fishy - congrats on the new place. I love hardwood floors. My house was built in 1949 and had been a rental for decades when I bought it in '06. The original hardwood floors were in somewhat decent shape when I finally got around to pulling up the carpet 3 or 4 years ago. There were staples, glue trails, paint spatters, and random other stains that sanded and scraped out with a little effort (well, ok, a lot of effort). I killed 2 sanders in the process, but it was worth it. If you plan to refinish yours, here is some un-solicited advice... save some of the sanding dust and mix it with wood glue to fill the nail holes from the carpet tack strips...it will already match the wood.. My heat register is still functioning (my favorite spot in the house all winter).

and now, back to your regularly scheduled programming..

hope we all survive Monday..

Monsters and Elves was a blast! So much fun had by all. Was a pleasure meeting beautiful Pani and visiting with you Trilo...

and of course the sideshow was a hoot. I missed seeing it on playa so was fun to visit a portion of it. Thank you Nila and Killbuck for bringing it. TITWI and Piney I saw for only a brief moment, but the HOF is coming up so more visiting then. YAY!

Was a great way to start my summer :coffee:

The refinishing or replacement of the floors will happen sometime in the future, when I see how the cash flows under the new circumstances. I'm happy to have a new heater, as I assume it's more energy efficient and it does have a fancy thermostat (programmical) that I can't reach...
There are registers in more than just the living room, too...

Plus there's a really sexy arch between the living and dining rooms... (irrelevent, but true.)

YAY for Fishy's new hardwood floors and new digs!

YAY for Nilasnake and Killbuck and Pandora and Trilo all having a wonderful time. It beats all those "pictures or it didn't happen' crowd, cutting them off before they start.

YAY for Fishy providing the "Lady with the Lamprey" art photo. That is something to ponder and look at and enjoy. GOOO STUFF.

YAY for littleflower and her muffins and the pic. littleflower, you're wonderful to remind me and others of the importance of the three key culinary elements towards a better more enjoyable dining experience: carbs, cheese, and bacon! I hope you have a blessing-filled week!

I'll talk to you later.

It is. I wonder what Jellyfish and Killbuck would have to say about that, after their MiniMan and ManTis.

Figjam that was great. Now we can all imagine what would happen if it appeared at our work. At the casino we would call security and 'take it down'. (No masks allowed). We live in fear of a violent theft.

Howdy, howdy, howdy and hugs and smooches all around.
And my exciting day . . . Used a small rental truck to haul hundreds of pounds of stuff out of the basement and storage unit to the trash transfer station. So much more to go, but can actually see the walls now. Comes from living in the same place 25+ years.
And now for a cold beer.

Beer and bacon... huzzah!!!!

It's been a busy fucking day! Big announcey things happening with a couple projects I'm involved with, lots of awesomeness there, and then it looks like Pandorra and I were able to change our campout plans for July. We'd gotten tickets for a thing we'd been wanting to go to for years up in Belden, California... only to find out that a few of our friends who were regulars weren't going this year.... and then we've been hearing from other friends about another awesome campout happening in Yerington, NV in the same time.

I also finished going through my pics from the weekend. Iffen you want to check out my pics from The Generator and then the party at the Morris Burner Hotel (here and here, on top of the ones I posted this morning).

Now it's definitely time for a drink. I have some stuff to prep for an early off-site meeting tomorrow (boo), but otherwise it's the end of a long and happy day! Cheers!

Morning YG. Thanks for the :coffee: :coffee: :coffee: Good to see you're taking care of yourself.

Gray overcast morning here today. Some mixed doubles tennis this evening. Wife was challenged to a match by an 8 year old girl. 80 vs 8. Would have been a no win situation but both the kid and her parents were really great so it was fun for them both Wife won. The kid was very good and just slightly more mobile  Another year and the results will be reversed. During June, I'm running a big social and tennis event (The Calcutta) that's been going on at our club for the past 39 years. 96 players divided into 8 teams equal men and women players Loads of parties and an auction of the teams on the 14th with the 2 day tourney on the 21st and 22nd. Load of moving parts so its a lot of work and a lot of fun.

Carpe Diem

Howdy everybody!

Ah, colonoscopies. Actually, I don't mind the procedure, but the prep is a special hell. So much special.

Nothing special going on here. When I go to the gym for water aerobics, I get home, wash up and rinse out, eat a bit of lunch, and then BAM! Out like a light for a couple hours. My sleep pattern is truly fucked up.

Building one of these guides is my dream project. I've got a whole directory full of how-tos, reference videos, webpages, photo galleries, costume breakdowns and walkthroughs, etc. But... I'm shy on the technical knowledge, the free time, the funds, and, frankly, the chutzpah.

I want to do it justice or not at all.

When he puts out his lamp, he sends the flower, or the star, to sleep.
