Last night I prototyped some swag after scoring some bulk necklace chains. I used sliced wine corks, image transfer tape, and tiny screw eye bolts to create them. Here's the first one. I'm creating a few varieties using other choice four-letter words.
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

I nominate SWAG for swag name. Maybe XIV BRC on the reverse. Neat idea, similar to cork in a bottle on a string necklace.

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
I feel like the cat that ate the canary. This week has been top notch. Tuesday, I set up my tent in my basement and sewed old 60's sheets over the mesh on the top, and sewed the bottom vent shut. YAY!
Then, today, I crafted my first ever EL-wire experiment AND put my cargo/tool belt together. The El-wire is awesome, but, I think I need to learn how to solder and all that so I can have less battery packs on my body. I don't know if I want to get that intense, as this is my newbie burner experience, and I want to stay focused on survival and self reliance
Oh and I work full time, teach yoga and do thai bodywork "on the side"...so my schedule is cray cray (as I'm sure most everyone's is!). Behold
Lights and stuff!

What I'm super pleased with, is that the vest is from the thrift store for $2.50 or so...I made pockets inside for the battery packs out of that same 60's sheet, the EL-wire was $3 a strand (2 strands, $6 total) and I used fishing line I already had to keep the wire where I wanted it. Soooo it cost me an hour and a half and a total of less than $10 in materials! Woohoo.

Nice work, bluemiragemi! You put my first EL wire application to shame. I like the belt, too, just be sure to hang it around your neck in the portos. The floors in those things....

Blue, You do great work. That vest is beautiful day or night. I love your pod belt! I'm jealous of anyone that can solder. My always fails like pennys in a well. Take a bow.

I'm trying to clear off my table but the projects keep piling up. I finished my one themed garment. A small cape to ward off sunburn with a camel on the front and camel butt on the back. Made a long fur vest for Sojourn. Now I need to sew my old tent. (That involves hauling my old machine out in the yard.) It's slowly coming together.

Picked up a kick-ass leather top hat and some awesome goggles. Ordered online - a second-hand full-length tapestry-looking jacket for my evening adventures. As soon as it arrives, I can start planning the El wire placement. Then there was the less interesting/more utilitarian trip to Lowes for random clamps and bungee chords, etc.

Did 2 things today.
Redesigned my bucket cooler to hold more water. Actually, I just drilled the holes higher up.

Then I lit up the wheels on my Playa bike with some battery powered LED's....Shouldn't have any problem seeing me now.

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
I bought the material needed to make the crates to ship my friends, Patience was anything but at the sight of me carrying the plywood into the garage, Fortitude whispered a not so subtle reminder about air holes. $60 for material, I'm guessing about $100 in container shipping fees... they better fucking appreciate this.
I finalized my route, added a day on the return to make it a more leisurely drive although it now involves hitting a concert on the beach before I arrive home (rationalizing this by reminding myself we've been together since '79 what's an additional 4 hours or so?) Although I'm taking the most direct way in I'm once again taking the Loneliest road on the return ....always a highlight for me... love that drive.
Debating whether I should forgo a drink cooler(I rarely drink cold beverages in defaultia) or send my MH PVC on the container to gain a little room this time.

These lists things you speak of, I am unfamiliar with them. Instead, I rummage constantly in the containers of what has ended up in my car, wondering what has made the journey, and looking for things that are still at home. Perhaps there is wisdom in this "list making" I might well learn.

I bought an old fuji identical to the one I use for ebay. I recently got a HUGE memory card for it. (Off of ebay). and I'll bring it. I never take any photos at the burn. It's as if I don't attend. This year I'll get pictures of everything and everybody.

I had brilliant idea a couple days ago: moop bags for my volunteers. The straps are almost finished, but I see a LOT of ironing in my near future. I'm using scraps from my fabric tote so they'll be cheep and interesting. I also have aprons, but the bags I can hand off to Sector Chiefs*
*Sector Chiefs are responsible for overseeing several spokes for the whole event. It's a rewarding job with perks. PM for more info.
