Things are getting semi-exciting around here. The two jobs being run by our section next week have me as the focal point. First off, we're getting a couple of research cores for the University of Missouri with the potential for a whole lot of payoff in the long term. They'll be characterizing one of the major soils in Missouri for us so that we can figure out optimum mowing dates, optimal planting and fertilization recommendations, and the like. We spend less money, hence, we win. The University gets free work, they win. Win-win written on that job big time.

The other job is another cooperative one with the state Geological Survey. We'll be coring a new formation that was just spotted by a friend of mine with the survey. It's never been characterized, and we get the kudos on that account. What's important about it is that for the first time, we may be able to spot the caprock on the Decaturville Structure, a confirmed and bona fide meteorite impact. This has implications across the midcontinent, including oil and gas producing areas of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas.

Wish me luck. There will be some long nights ahead next week.

What the Fuck! I bought a raffle ticket to win a BM ticket. The party and drawing was to be held on July 20th. installing the tank with a small forward lean (toward a bottom outlet) allows a settling bowl and works fuckin good for me.

ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!! My boyfriend's wife has decided she's going to play hardball in divorce proceedings and is being a total bitch. She came around to his house while he was at work yesterday and took all the plates and cutlery etc in the kitchen so he can't eat at home now until he can get a chance to replace everything. I'm so angry about how she's messing him around that it's probably a really good thing I'm in another country I just hope like fuck that our tickets didn't arrive yesterday while she was there because with the way she's behaving it would not surprise me one bit if she took them.
