Thanks MDF... I'm feeling better, and quiet on the board the last couple days (and probably the next couple to come) because I finally got my new computer. I'm in the middle of moving work files and setting up applications, configuring stuff, and running various tests and things so I can put it to work. Another long night of nerding it up, drinks all round!!! :)

Sorry, FIGJAM. I don't do tunnel boring. That means that I'm pretty much confined to 147" diameter and smaller. You must be thinking of Bertha.

Now THAT's a tunnel boring machine. And right now, it's stuck.

Good Morning All !

last night Tiburon lost all power from dark to midnight.
I had been reading a serious spy tome about our situational meddlings
then I heard a loud report of gunfire (or a transformer short)..hmm

I walked around offering assistance with my burn dusty lanterns
always ready thanks to years of playa training.

Quiet day here!

Hooray for Frankencamper! And for secret projects! And for Friday!

I'm still recovering from an overload of yum last night. Taco night, plus Pandorra tried her hand at making a tarte tatin. We'd seen it done a couple times on cooking programs and we were intrigued. Of course, her plans went completely to hell when she realized that the pan she'd been preparing it had plastic on the handle and she couldn't put it in the oven (it cooks on the stove for a bit, then you bang it into the oven for a while). The only all-metal pan we had was a few sizes too big, so she improvized with an almost-the-same-size pie pan, but that had a different thickness than a frying pan and proved to be a pain in the ass on the stove and a monstrous mess in the oven (stuff bubbled over, set off smoke alarms, etc). It totally didn't turn out the way she wanted and she was all kinds of upset about it, but man was it still incredibly tasty. I think that once she took her first or second bite she realized it wasn't the disaster she suspected, and it might be worth trying to make again.

Ditto on the hoorays for Frankencamper, secret projects, and especially for Friday.

You had taco night last night, I had full-on Mexican night last night. For the very first time I did sopes de la casa. burritos Puerco (verde salsa) , and cheese tamales. Whenever I've done Mexican in the past, I've never had enough cookware. Now, I have enough. It seems like you only get the important items when you're old enough to know better. I shouldn't have fried foods- I have a deep fryer, etc. etc.

Dammit.

Friday Night, this city is alive, single guy rocking the bachelor scene. Starting the action with some righteous dog walking, followed by some totally kick ass grocery shopping, I'm almost out of laundry detergent. After I get the shopping bags empty, maybe a shower to wash off the sweat, dog saliva and stench of defeat. With the detergent I can maybe get a load of wash in before retreating to the bed, with nearly a hundred pounds of canine trying to steal the covers. Then watching some Beavus and Butthead while downing shots of whothehellcares to seal the sweet kiss of this passing day. The girl I have a crush on tells me she is doing the same tonight, but 2 weeks ago she first told me that dating was out of the question. She's also the one who got me to foster all the fricken dogs. Night y'all.

*rides up on War Rabbit™, sends him off to the drive in for cheeseburgers*
*wanders in, starts ECM*

well, the Hof party is coming next weekend, does everyone have location/directions?
All are welcome, so, come on up!
Also wondering, who's coming up, when and who's bringing dogs?
Not a big deal no matter, just wondering.
I do ask, and dogs be very social and socialized, and owners be willing to take control immediately if case of issue.
Otherwise, the water is nice, cool, but nice, fish are biting, and all looks great!

Getting ready for the Hof weekend, sorting my camping gear, making food &drink list, getting most of the shopping done. Petey Mcpants will not be attending.

Can't wait to feel that wonderful mountain air...

Yggy,
"socialized" dogs indeed ~
This time I will NOT let your darling hound grab my bbq ribs and abscond
unbelieveably swift steal just as I was starting to enjoy them
and then he came back, licking his chops without a sign of guilt...I am ready for you and you will have to jump way higher dear C. Yes I will bring ribs .

yeah ASD.......Clyde will be staying home this trip.
I'm not sure how many pooches are coming, and, well he's such a timid dog and gets beat up too often......hahhaaa
easier on me to have a house sitter and not have to deal.
Yay 420!!! looking forward to seein you! Are Adam or Sadie coming? Hope so, great folks!!
and UJH: dang, I sure wish you could make it......those dang 12 hour drives, though, I get it. We'll drink a toast to ya!

Should be fun, sounds like a couple folks from "3playa" will be there, I've not met them, but seem super nice!!

I think I might try my hand at fishing this year. I'll get a little jar of the bright green stuff that reminds the fishies of what their mothers' used to feed them back at the farm. Work continues on music delivery systems and legal super low power radio station KELO. I'll be interested to see what high outdoor transmission point does for the signal distance. Indoors range was about 50 feet. Otherwise it's the ongoing battle against this chair in front of the computer, and by gadfrey, the chair is not going to win today! Munitions mate! More coffee! Fire when ready!

I imagine Clyde planning his night, where he gets to watch his movies, sit in the recliner, stay up late, pick the best spot to sleep in, and not have to worry about all the bones he has to hide away at the Hof. All that furtive hiding and digging seems like a lot of work.
