Thinks are starting to heat up...

Dug out the bman totes from the garage and basement today to figure out what I have and what I need. Also finished testing the new external fuel tank for the generator (works like a charm) and rebuilt a swamp cooler.

Ordered a couple of replacement canvas seat sets for my directors chairs. Took my 2 cycle golf cart out for a joy ride yesterday, everything is working fine. I am using my 3 wheeled Harley as a taxi again this year to aid the weary, the sick, the lame, the injured, the drunk, and the horny.

Dug out all the kitchen stuff yesterday, and figured out what we didn't have/had gone missing. (Usually, we camp with other people - but this year, we're camping on our own! So the kitchen needs to be a bit more robust.)

Picked up most of the missing things, so should be good to go to start designing a chuckbox now.

The new camp shower is oficially under construction.

We sidewalk scored a nice 3' x 4' shower basin and I got the base built this weekend. It's 16" off the ground with a nice step that will keep your feet clean as you get in and out. Next weekend, my son and I will build the frame for the privacy panels and to suspend the water source overhead.

I've got all the basics covered. Now I'm trying to come up with some fun accessories for it!

instead of 16" off the ground how about 16' off the ground. That would be fun :D
Oh my god, it's HUGE!

I'm picturing myself climbing up the 12' ladder to get in the ShowerTower of Terror...and that's pretty damn funny, and it gets me thinking...

I gotta start small and smart though, it will be adaptable, that's for sure.

Just realized that I don't have enough clothes for 14 days in the desert!

It seems like this happens every year :/ Looks like my fashion will be dictated by Burning Man again. Cargo shorts and tee shirts ahoy!

... and no, naked isn't an option :)

Just ordered a device to help find my bike.. It's just like a door locker audio beeping for a vehicle. Just attach the speaker to my bike and carry the button on me.. when I leave a stage and their are 1000 bikes covered in el-wire, mine will be the one beeping away.

More battery powered LED's. One string is the perfect length to go around the inside of a bicycle wheel.

That's 8 strings. Either you have 4 bikes, or we share a distant relative.

They also work well for the camp dive bar accent lighting. :D

Relatives, maybe. My dad got around a little.

Finished prepping tent trailer. Installed privacy curtains/dividers to make smaller place to be air conditioned for daytime napping.
Also installed foil insulation wrap to the window areas to help keep out heat.

Ahahahaa!

I do have a pair of little Tina Fey glasses, but they make my eyes look significantly smaller, so they make me self-conscious.

Oh, man. I would really like some classic Brad Majors' glasses though. :D I think they would suit my unstoppable geekiness.

I purchased my emergency medical and helicopter evacuation insurance policy today.

Being of the geriatric persuasion, on Medicare, and with supplemental health insurance, I do not need the medical portion of the policy.

But, from what I have heard, if I were to injured and needed to be evacuated by helicopter, the $60.00 that the policy cost me might be one of the better investments that I have made in some years.

In addition, I automatically received $5,000 in theft insurance and insurance coverage for the repatriation of my mortal remains.........

My item of the day is Space Bags. I packed tons of clothes in a large bag--probably 24 inches thick. I sucked the air out with a vacuum and it was about the size of a phone book. I plan on carrying this dense, heavy pack in my carry-on, on the plane. This may be a good solution to trying to figure how to pack all that stuff.

While they wont return to that size without a vac, you can get them fairly close by rolling them up starting at the end furthest from the valve. While not a perfect solution, they still take up far less room then standard packing - and will keep the dust out of your "traveling clothes" if you leave them in one of those bags all week and change after leaving the playa.
