Going off pavement down into the Arizona Strip was simply amazing. North rim of the Grand Canyon, within park borders but not the official "North Rim". Toroweap, oh my.

Quick pass thru has turned into hours of catching up. Now I've got all you fuckos on my mind and in my heart again. Especially Elliot.

Choosing to equate "Hospital" with "Care" helps keep the thoughts positive. (sending you my best)

Funny you should ask...

I was just sitting here quietly waiting for the rest of the family to start spewing forth from their rooms when a strange urge to get up and start running in circles and banging pots came over me.

Hi Delle, ASD, YG and everyone else i may have missed. Good to know that Elliot is ok and we'll see him in the dust in about 70 days or so!! Let's hear form you big guy as soon as you are able. Had been buried in running a very big and complicated tennis and social event for the past few weeks and it ended on Sunday and has taken me a few days to read all that I've missed here and recover from the effort. For my trouble, I earned a new License Plate Bracket proclaiming me the Commissioner. Pretty cool. We had 6 parties, and an auction where I served as auctioneer, and 2 days of tennis with 96 players on 8 teams and prize money of $6,925.00 Very exciting, but with all of those moving parts, quite exhausting. Happy it is behind me and now I can concentrate on getting ready for Playa. Fired my schwag last night and will open the kiln tonight or tomorrow.

Hugs to all of you and especially to Elliot for a rapid return to your usual robust self Fishy and BVB, we'll miss you in the dust

This is good news, no, call it wonderful news indeed! Monsanto (NYSE symbol: MON) hit a record high today of $128.79, up $8.16. Their new seeds, which are absolutely helping the poor in third world countries and saving thousands of lives, are truly a miracle. It's sad that so many "liberals" in this country are so closed-minded that those very things that save the lives they claim should be saved are the things that they abhor. Genetically altered seeds and foods will save so many lives with essentially no negatives should be heralded, not impuned. But sadly the left would rather have these poor people die a tragic and lingering death than to do anything that "upsets" their narrow-minded beliefs.

I'm so old I still remember Monsanto's World of the Atom at Disneyland being one of the coolest rides I've ever been on. God bless Monsanto and God bless American ingenuity.

My company at the time was a big Monsanto customer and so they "comped" me and my family Disneyland tickets and entertained us in their VIP pavilion. The kids really enjoyed it. I've never been much of a Disneyland fan, and now it is a really expensive outing for a family's day at the park.

Six Flags, Great Adventure in New Jersey is $67/day/person this year! $67 to wait in 30-45 minute lines to take a 1-5 minute roller coaster ride. Just plain nuts.

Ramping up to TTITD......

Saturday, got to see Joe Willett and his Jazz Ensemble for about an hour and a half. Had one of Original Jack's superb burgers (cheddar and bacon on home baked kaiser roll bun) and Chinese dumplings as an appetizer with sriracha dip. Sunday, finally met a lady who I've been corresponding with who just came down from MAINE. She considers herself a Texican so I took her to the best Cancun-style that Columbia offers....and she liked it and me. Things are beginning just barely to look up.

Monday, I stood in humble awe of a wonderful 88 year old gazillionaire widow who donated 200 acres to the University for teaching children about soils and nature and farming wholesome food. Anybody heard of Edward D. Jones company? BIG AAA-rated Wall Street Firm? "Pat" Jones, the wife of the son of the founder, came out and joined us for a half day of drilling on that property in that interagency cooperative investigation I arranged. She is sharp as a tack and a wonderful person. She graduated many years ago with a degree in soils, so we had a very happy half-hour together talking about the soils on the property. The mere fact that she took the time to come out and see the progress meant a lot.

Tuesday- next to last MD appointment before TTID. I may not be as indestructible as I once was (I never broke anything serious, thankfully) , but I'm still alive and well.

Glad to hear Elliott is still with us. A HUGE SHOUT OUT OF THANK YOU to Ygmir, for giving us the information.

Welcome back, delle!

Happy anniversary to fernley1, and congrats to you, magic marty, or should I say, MR. COMMISIONER?

Hoping to see you all at TTITD soon!

*heavy sigh*

I have decided to pay attention to several 'subtle' signs thrown at me today, and not join the Hof gathering this time...

I'll be thinking of you all up there having such a wonderful time in that magical place with awesome friends.
(Lucky, I offer you my tent spot, in my opinion the best of the best spots there for a tent... remember the tiny deer?)

Well, dang. This is a bar, right? If I ever 'needed' a drink, it's now.
*another heavy sigh*

Well shitpiss. Gonna miss you Patsh. Yes I remember your spot and the tiny deer. Sadie thought it was going to be bait for the mountain lion bear that would surely attack us later that night  . Miss you but will see you in the dust...

Hi gang.
dang it when folks can't make it!!!
we loves our Patsh, so sorry you can't make it.

we've got wonderful clouds and very light scattered sprinkles today........yay that!! supposed to warm up for the weekend, but, any moisture/humidity helps with fire danger, even if only for a few days.

Looking forward to Elorrum, Magic Marty, and Littleflower getting here tonight sometime, then tomorrow "off to the Hoff"!!

gosh... I'm gonna miss you all toooo... thanks for the kind words.
Elorrum's music from her latest magical music machine playing around the fire... Elorrum: our very own electronical genius!
Lucky, I also had thoughts of a protective mother (large) cat before seeing it was a little deer... the calls I had been answering seemed first like a bird, then more like a young cat becoming more and more insistent. It was a great relief to see I was wrong when the little guy came into view. It might have ended up as a meal for a mountain lion/bear anyway, when I couldn't find it later. It was so weak and hungry... *sigh* :(
Delle, in summer, it's actually 3 hours difference, in the other direction. 9 your time = 6 here. We're on Mountain Stranded Time. Winter, 2 hours difference. (Great talking to you this morning!!! :D )
Yay for a little rain, Yggy!! The first time I went to the Hof, there was quite a bit of mud and water on that long dirt road, making me glad I wasn't on the trike. Here's hoping for perfect weather for the whole weekend, and no un-intentional fires.

The heat and humidity was so high yesterday I thought I was in Alabama.
Its raining cat and dog all around but not here.. As I'm typing this the rain starts.. A gentle rain. Might not have to sprinkle after all.. All the BM projects are tarped over in the yard.. I can draw in some cut outs with the projector.. Close all the doors and shoot the picture down the hallway..

Yo guys have a great Hof  :coffee:
