Having reviewed your case file, GE, I conclude that you were undoubtedly not alone in, ahem, taking matters into your own hands.GuinivereElise wrote:Morning all!
BHA, I think I need to be next... perhaps you can look up my history on the confessions thread: it might be a good place to start, about last night.
Dr. BHA would have done the same if he were in your bed.

just gotta place myself in the non-tobacco smoking section.
i'll be fine, just trying to think of methods to re-start the younster's interest in school... hell, i would buy him hookers if i thought it would do any good.
and by the way, i won't be capitulating this little skirmish either.
the young man has got to get at least a high school diploma... no ands, ifs or buts about it. it is the only manner by which to escape a lifetime of poverty, and even then there are no guaranties.
set up another beer, this one seems to have leaked out of the whole in the top of the glass... (final gulp)

good to know, Rian. I've been a little worried about him.
*pours another guinness for Joel* Here, and I'll have another one setting, since they take so long... just let me know when you're ready for it. Oh, and did you notice my shamrock on the top? I learned how to do that in Eire, when I was there... I know you're distracted, but I'm pretty proud...
so, the boy just won't GO to school? Cuts class? or doesnt' care about doing his work? I'm sorry, you've probably already said what's going on.. just give me the abridged version...

has skipped school, won't do or turn-in homework and generally doesn't think he has to abide by his mother's rules, of which i am generally the enforcement wing of the family management.GuinivereElise wrote: just give me the abridged version...

nope, he is a loner, but wants the acceptance... (ie, he enjoys the extra-curricular activities football pep-rallies, but he won't keep his grades up to do it)Zulegoona wrote:Joel is his behavior, similar to that of his friends or is he a loner? Does he have interests, is he cutting school to do anything in particular?
he hangs in his room and watched TV or X-box, but those are being confiscated this evening by his mother... he isn't particularly motivated to do anything... and why should he, he has everything he can imagine... just no money, no "freedom" because he relies on his mother and i for cash, food, clothing, whatever... and he intimidates his bothersome little brother, so he does exhibit some anti-social behavior, usually to authority figures like myself. and all i want to see is a little initiative on his part... and i think once he tastes "success" he'll want more... but he quits too early before he really encounters success.
as i said elsewhere, every teacher said he was bright, just not motivated.
sorry to burden all of you with this.
another beer please... where is my lighter and bowl?
woof
I have some strange bruises this morning. Sore muscles I did not even know I had.
Who's gonna help me work out my kinks?
GE, a G&T if you please. And, I hope it all worked out for you last night but I must say the tub just seemed a bit empty without you. Still, more champagne for me.
