During the Great Ticket Riots of 2012 I saw a lot of comparison, explaining how Glastonbury handles their tickets, and how Glastonbury handles their gates...

It is nice to read that they attempt to recycle what's recyclable. I don't think most venues even bother. That is the only thing nice about it.

I went to a Dave Matthews Band concert after the burn last year. They have a modestly strong ecological message to some of their songs, but it didn't hit home. Of course, the amount of trash littering the lawn wasn't nearly as bad (or close to the scale of) Glastonbury, but I remember I found myself standing and staring at it for a minute or two. I was speechless. The trash cans were right there... The behavior just didn't compute.

I think that's when it finally, finally hit me that there really is nothing quite comparable to Burning Man.

Yeah, it's a real shame. I wish that commercial festival culture (not just in the UK, but everywhere) embraced the idea of LNT. I think better awareness of personal responsibility is a good thing, plus it makes people think a bit more about the unnecessary packaging and stuff they bring out with them to begin with.

Burning Man is soooo much better at LNT.

I'll take some of those tents, sleeping bags, and any size 12us shoes.......Just sayin......

It doesn't take much to inform people of LNT importance. Why these other venues don't embrace/share/instill importance of the concept on their webpages and during the event is just a real head scratcher to me. Burners have such a sense of pride when it comes to LNT... not being shy about it being an all for one and one for all kind of deal. Surely this could catch on globally at such events with the proper amount and kind of exposure.

I wonder how far people have to walk back and forth to their car to load it.
And does it make a difference that they can buy food, ect., there?

Plus they don't lose their venue if they don't clean up.

We pull that stunt one time and no more playa.

Gotta have personal motivation to do the right thing.

I've been to 4 Ozzfests and 2 Family Values tours not to mention 100's of other concert and have never seen a mess like that!

Every show I've ever been to from metal to pop artists have left a crazy mess for even just a few hours.
