Jovankat, I'm sorry to hear of the fucking issues with your bf and his soon to be ex. Unfortunately it happens. There's nothing you can do about it. I know it's aggravating but maybe he should change the locks on his doors. Divorces can get really ugly depending on the reason for the divorce. My unsolicited advice, don't get caught up in the drama.

Sea story time. We had a friend stationed in Japan who married a horrible woman while was home on leave after going to a stateside C school. He was a bit older, soft-spoken and quite gentlemanly. So we were really surprised when he was bragging about his new stripper wife, who "had only been dancing to make ends meet". Yeah? Why was she wearing a diamond encrusted gold Krugerrand around her neck from one of her exes?
When we met her, yikes. Could not believe how ugly and uncouth she was. I threw her out of my home during a party, and that takes a lot of uncouth. She began cheating on him as soon as she could. He filed for early return of dependent. Our department head was a booger and made him come on on the day the household goods were packed out, even though our guy had gotten permission to have the entire day off. By the time this poor sap took the train to base and back again, she had packed out everything except the futon and his clothes. Bitch even took all the lightbulbs and the toilet paper. And then she tried to get child support when she got pregnant by her new lover!

My son is a disabled navy service man.. So badly disabled hr has a conserver that handle his moneys.. The conserver claimed all household as own by the governments including the kid.. Seeing as they had payed for all of it.. He and Dan are doing great and fuck her.. The con went back to prison..

I've avoided the boards for the last few months. I'm so fucking bummed that I won't be going to Burning Man this year.

I've wanted to go for so fucking long. In previous years, going to the burn wasn't an option due to health issues, work and finances. I finally had all my ducks in a row this year ... Time off - approved, Budget - tight, but do-able ..... So, when tickets went on sale, I took the day off work to be at my computer, ready for the sale. And lucky me... I got one within the first 15 minutes I reserved my hotel, joined a theme camp, signed up to volunteer at ePlaya meet & greet and reserved a bike from Elliott... I was all set to burn this year.

Then, in the middle of April, I received an email from one of my cousins, saying there is a family reunion this year. It's my father's side of the family. I haven't seen any of them since my dad died when I was 15 (25 years ago). I have no memory of anyone on my dad's side of the family, except my grand parents, a great aunt that lived in Canada and an Aunt and Uncle that lived in Connecticut. My dad was one of 12 siblings, and there are only 3 left. I want to get to know my father's family but I couldn't afford to do both, Burning Man and the reunion so I had to make a decision, and the Reunion won

I know, there's always next year for the burn, but I find the closer we get the more bummed I am. Usually, I would be on the boards several time a day, reading all the posts, wishing I could go. But since I changed my plans and sold my ticket, I've avoided them. I didn't anticipate being so bummed out about it. I figured that after the initial disappointment, I'd be back to surfing ePlaya and dreaming of future burns... but it isn't fucking working.

It fuckin' Stampede time in Calgary. I fucking HATE the stampede. It's pretty much a bunch of creepy white collar men dressed like wanna be cowboys, drinking in tents next to the shitty nightclubs that everyone in this city makes fun of (Roadhouse, Cowboys, etc,) and these creeps are wasted by 3pm on 8$ cans of beer and hitting on the bottom-of-the-barrel bar staff (they shittiest tub girls that can only get a job for Stampede, because no full time bar will hire someone this retarded.) While this is all going down there is a really nice country style stage with hay bails, etc.. except they have a DJ playing top 40's with a couple go go dancers doing their thing. Now, don't get me wrong, I love a little eye candy, however, this display of ... (I don't even know what to call it,) is a fuckin embarrassment to this city. The traffic goes to shit because all these out-of-towners don't know what a one-way street is... I just fucking hate Stampede.

Deep fried oreos, deep fried cheese cake, deep fried cookie dough, deep fried cheesies, deep fried sushi, deep fried peanut butter cups... fuckin' gross! They need to stop deep frying everything and start wrapping bacon around more things.. just my two cents.

Just got back from Juplaya and a week at Lake Tahoe. Everything, EVERYTHING is so fucking dry! Even the forest felt like a desert, and the playa is dryer than I think I have ever seen it. I have my fingers and toes crossed that the playa gets some rain before the event.

My "90%" 20x30 and 10x30 shade pieces arrived today from a seller on Amazon.

90% see-through I'd guess is what they meant cause no way is this stuff 90% light or UV blocking!

I've got some 70% material in 15x6 pieces and it's weave is way thicker.

Now I'm gonna have to deal with returning it, refund clearing the credit card and then purchasing some stuff from another vendor and hoping it's a denser weave with more light/UV blocking capability.

I guess there's a difference between shade cloth and shade tarp??? Tarp is supposedly a denser weave but then what the heck does 90% mean??!!

Saying it's 90% compared to some unknown metric is useless. I thought 90% light/UV blocking was 90% not getting in. The vendor is trying to say this product's 90% is 90% blockage compared to say the 50% version they make!!!!

Amazon's A-Z customer guarantee is taking care of it all but still, major PITA with little more than a month to get it right.
