Patriotism? This transcends all nationalities. We just happen to be leading the charge!

Are you aware of what Ken has under his kilt? Because it's not much. And nothing much happens, either.GreyCoyote wrote:BBadger, we have to agree we disagree on this one.BBadger wrote:

Hots Up is what Barbie does in the dressing room at Fredricks of Hollywood.
Heats Up is what happens under Kens kilt when he sees the end effect.
Or something like that...

Weren't you?BBadger wrote:Also, I wasn't talking about uniformity, because that would imply that there are different choices that could be valid and that you just want to choose one for efficiency sakes.
BBadger wrote:But that's because you're a hippie and would be content to sow weeds (or just weed?) into your garden for no other reason than "diversity" or "fun." But let's get back to reality here. You don't create a healthy crop by allowing every last plant to infest your land. You ensure that harmful plants are removed and the healthy, productive plants survive. In this case, the invasive, noxious weed is the non-word "maths." The zebra mussel on the ship of English. It has spread like a malignant cancer, harming once-prosperous English speaking countries. It must be stopped.Uniform language is boring as shit. Uniformity is boring as shit.
I almost think the rest of the world should just let you guys have patriotism, let it come to be a specifically American thing.BBadger wrote:Patriotism? This transcends all nationalities. We just happen to be leading the charge!

Hello Gyre !
long time away ?
Are you back to BRC this year ?
Well I do sing only the love song, ramped up to maximum of course, about Living in America.
Today free show of "MoonAlice" which beckons me and Soccer rehash of course.
Have we learned to love that well enough to play it better next time ?
and of course volunteer yourself in whatever you do or why bother doing it at all.
xoA.

I have a ticket and a sixteen hour mix of Rammstein and disney songs done with musique concrete to bring, so we'll see.
I find the volunteer polls disturbing, as I wanted to be part of the building process before I was sure I would even enjoy the actual event.
Perhaps some questions shouldn't be asked?

Re: So why do you volunteer for the BMorg?
I love the fact that an American and an australian are discussing correct English in a thread about volunteering. Please remember it's English. so as an English person i get the final say.
Math sounds stupid to me. it sounds like you can do one thing of the many complicated things that are mathematics. Maths sounds like you can do many of the complicated things. so ner ner
when you americans stop using English words wrong then you get to complain about language.
also you only stuck with the imperial system because nobody else uses or understands it so they don't realise you made everything a bit smaller so things seem bigger. If you don't stop it we will take it back and you will have to create a new name for it. after all it was our Empire.
oh yea i volunteer so i can wear a watch and jump the queue at Ice.

...Uhh, I volunteer because I like seeing behind the scenes, making a difference in the entrance/exodus times, and also, I look good in Black.
I certainly wandered into an interesting thread here.

Re: So why do you volunteer for the BMorg?
I volunteer because my husband volunteers. He volunteers because there was a need. Also, 'cause its fun to hang with the popular kids. And all kind of interesting things happen with fire and medical, so its like watching BRC- the daytime soap. And there is nothing like the sound sleep of sleeping next to someone on call with a radio. Kssshh. Beep beep. Ksssshhhh... like a lullaby.
