I can't send PMs

Hi, Trilo

I can't seem to send PMs to anyone. Whenever I try and click "send," it tells me the user doesn't exist, yet I can clearly see their profile. Is it that people have blocked me? I hope not. That would bum me out.

Double check your "sent" folder on your PMs - it may be full, and that could block you from sending. They don't automatically clear out like email, you have to go in & delete them to make more space.

Is there any way to increase folder storage capacity for PMs?

None of my folders are at capacity. Well, I'm going to go to bed now and will see if I can get things working tomorrow.

Also, I realized that I was being paranoid about being blocked, because it's impossible to block certain people from sending you PMs. I'm really skilled at that paranoia thing, let me tell you.

I received a PM from littlebird, and like an elaborately wrapped gift, I am waiting to open it for when my spirit is at a lull.

It may be that you're misspelling the name. There are a couple ways to send a person a PM, I'll run through them for you.

Easiest method - if you're looking at one of their posts or their profile on the board, just click the PM/Send a private message button. The site will then present you with the message entry box with it set to go to that person.

Basic method - go to your inbox, click New PM (top left), and then type in the username of the person you're trying to reach and click the Add button. It's not case-sensitive, but it has to have the same characters and spaces or it will tell you the user does not exist.

Basic method with a little help - go to your inbox, click New PM (top left), then click on the Find A Member link. That will give you a popup that lets you search for the username. Type in the first few letters and add an asterisk * and it will give you a list of all the matches. Find the person you're looking for in the list and check the checkbox, then at the bottom click on Select Marked. It'll take you right back to your message with that person's name in the address field. Click add and you're good to go.

Once it's addressed, you should be able to type your message and then go. If you experience problems doing that, please send me a private message with the details of who you're trying to reach and I'll do some investigating.

I've never had to do that. The oldest drop off from the bottom.
Perhaps you were thinking of the Outbox? But who sends 100 PMs at once....
