I have researched Burning man. The beautiful dynamic of young and old coming together for a truly spiritual, learning environment. Leave no trace (pick up after yourself).

Welcome to eplaya.
Actually, we actively discourage this sort of situation from arising. You may want to research "radical self-reliance."Gjotalley wrote:...Ask if you need, never ask if not in need....

The earth gave us life. In order to sustain existence one must understand the delicate balance of giving to Mother Earth and also understand she will extract nutrients in order for survival.

Welcome Brother/Sister,
If you are handing me that hotdog/pancake/snowcone, bless you and keep you...but if you are stepping in line in front of me to grab a hotdog/pancake/snowcone while spouting about mother natures bounty...then vengeance is mine.
I just hope you plan to share the bounty, even if it isn't under your control.

You haven't researched it enough! It's pretty much a huge party, with shit on fire, motorized mayhem machines, and really loud music.Gjotalley wrote:I have researched Burning man. The beautiful dynamic of young and old coming together for a truly spiritual, learning environment.
I suppose it is a "learning environment" but the lessons are more about not accepting drinks that aren't in a sealed can so you don't get dosed, not fucking with the DPW, making sure you lock up all your stuff on Burn night, and bringing everything you need because it's more about self-reliance than hippy-babble commune crap.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

i disagree! there are both sides that go on. if you're looking for nothing but a party and being a "bro" then that's all you'll find. if you're looking for something deeper you may find that also. however make sure you have everything you will need cause if you have to ask, you didn't bring what you needed and nobodys there to be your parentCaptain Goddammit wrote:You haven't researched it enough! Yer both right. There is such huge cross section of everything. It seems like it doesn't matter what you do, somebody else is already there doing that.
That's part of what makes it awesome.

Do us all a favor and spend less time spouting hippie platitudes and instead work on getting your food, drink and shelter ready so that your body doesn't suffer a "cosmic imbalance" while on the playa.Gjotalley wrote:The earth gave us life. Where's that photo of the JotS bank experiencing a "cosmic imbalance"?

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
