Now I know why we haven't heard very much from you lately...no internet at home. Glad you are back online.theCryptofishist wrote:So, we finally have internet in the house. I haven't filled the bookcases yet, but I haven't unpacked all the books yet.
We have a garbage disposal, but we can't find the switch.
Also, I've seen older homes that had the disposal switch located somewhere under the sink. Sometimes in combo with a wall switch, sometimes not.

Yay Patsch! I notice there's an empty back seat. I will indulge in a small fantasy of one day knowing what that ride feels like.
((((((((((MDF)))))))))))))))
I promised a partial show and tell of a playa project for tomorrow, so I am trying to be ready. I am grateful for small deadlines. I could fake it and take a hat though...
ha ha ha ha ha! I am looking for a solution to having multiple 12V loads off one power source without having a lot of funky splices. Looking at bus bars, terminal bus bars, the nomenclature varies with each vendor. Automotive splitters are 4 and 8 gauge, and I don't need that muscle. Sadie?
oy. wire nuts for today I guess.
Everybody have a good day!!!

I found a ring with three male quick disconnect tabs. It fits around the battery terminal. I needed to connect a 12 gauge wire...this works great. I found it at an auto parts store - there were two in the package and I only used one...will bring it along in case you can't locate one there.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
Patsch, thanks a bunch for your vote of confidence, and I love the trike.
I knew a guy in Hartsburg, Missouri, who did a 'build-your-own hybrid" that actually took an inch of paperwork at registration and inspection by the Highway Patrol. Would he do it again? Nope.
Of course, the Department of Revenue thought that I'm from another country, since I had to supply a birth certificate. They thought that New Mexico was part of another country, south of the US/Mexico border. I asked for a supervisor there, and then quietly informed him and the clerk that my next stop was to theFederal Building to establish my bona fides. I was going to return with a US Marshal to help sort things out if they wished. I then held up my US Passport.
"I THINK I'm a citizen here. Comprende, amigo?"
My driver's license was processed post haste with no further questions. Where do they get these clerks?

We found the switch for the whirly drain thing that kills--garbage disposal is another name, I guess.
And we fixed it so I could air out my room--it gets muggy here. My housemate (oh, how I wish I had a housemage--no more spelling derived off the path jaunts) is more bothered by the freeway noise than I am. I used to sleep next to a burningman bar at night!

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
I was woken up around 1am with bad heartburn last night and while sitting in the living room drinking some warm tea a barfight broke out across the street.
2 1/2 years it's been peaceful but wow, last night got ugly. A good dozen people arguing, girls crying, fists flying, cars screeching off and screeching back in. There was even a gun scare but I guess it's cause it bounced outta someone's pants, not that anyone drew a weapon and it was quickly recovered and put away.
Still, the arguing and carrying on lasted until 2.30am. Oddly enough no one called the police. I was tempted to 911 a few times but instead kicked back with 2 fascinated kitties and just watched it all unfold from our perch on the couch.
Dragging butte here today though!

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
well, as we all clearly remember, Thor dressed as Freya, "bride" to the Jotun who had Mjolnir in order to retrieve it.
This is not unprecedented among the Nordic deities (once again showing open mindedness), as we also recall Loki becoming a mare, in order to mate with the stonemasons horse, thus delaying the finish of the stone wall and winning the bet for the Aesir. And, along with that, becoming impregnated and giving birth to Slepnir, Odin's 8 legged steed.
