Bounce! Those are gorgeous.
Picked up a bunch of margarita makings for our margaritas in the street gift. And a bunch of Texas brewed beer and Texas wine. Will get the juice and sodas for non drinkers in fernley.
The stallion purchased a bunch of hardware stuff and happily marked things off the list.

Thanks guys! Can't wait to get the letter set of stamps. I'll be making personalized bracelets for who ever can find me.
I'll have them at the MnG also.
I've never done anything like this before, so its a fun new thing.

Bounce530 those are great! I've slept most of the day away today but American Boyfriend go the "we missed you" note for our tickets today
Oh wait I did things yesterday, got my haircut to be more desert friendly, saw my doctor to get prescriptions filled for while I'm away and saw my therapist for what was supposed to be a "coping with anxiety on the playa" session but we ended up talking about all the burning man related drama in my life and she gave me lots of figurative gold stars for how I've been handling things

Nice work, Bounce - very posh!
We hit the farmer's market today, and I took advantage of a deal at our favorite meat market to get gobs of meat to make burgers. Then I mixed stuff up, chilled it down, and banged out a couple dozen patties. They're chilling down now, then I'll vac-seal them and keep 'em frozen until we're ready to go.

Inspected trailer tires, decided three of them were too sketchy. Replaced two of them today, will get the third this week. Bought more rubber bands for tie dyeing and another jack.

Took down the boxes today. Ordered the few supplies I needed to replace. Placed 10 one gallon water jugs in the garage freezer. Testing the solar lights. Probably replace them with some high end ones from the dollar store

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
Today has been a good day!
I bought my travel insurance, printed all my travel docs at work (last shift before the playa!), sent a critical email about one of my art projects, organised to pick up the vital piece of equipment for the other project on Tuesday, mapped out all my time between now and when I leave on Wednesday and American Boyfriend bought a car for us* to drive to BRC and a dome for our camp!
* Him. He will be doing all the driving. I've never learnt how.

Seriously, everyone, buy travel insurance. You don't know what you'll need it for.

A couple of weeks ago I ran across some stucco tape. It's 2" red plastic that is removable for 30 days. I stuck a piece on my car. Every couple of days I take it off and move it around. It appears to be magic. Tough as nails and stuck on tight after being repositioned numerous times. It's my new favorite. $8 for a 60 yd roll is a bargain. I have precut pieces of that silver insulation that go on the outside of my windows. This stuff acts like it won't fail.

Larry's clothes bin is packed and we went through the drawers with costume items. I have a bog of stuff to give away to one of the costume boutiques now. Picked through my Saudi veils and decided to leave Dad's Saudi flag at home. Bedding duffel done.

Stucco Tape sounds like a great find! Will look for some...
I purchased travel insurance last week...went back and forth with myself about it, and decided it is money well spent.
I have my first aid ready, the coffee crate is packed, got another cooler to use as my road trip cooler so the others can stay sealed up. (why don't they put drains in all coolers?? Had a helluva time finding a decent shaped medium sized cooler that had a drain...)
Bought some one-ply toilet paper, got the toiletries all together and bagged up, counted my stakes...
A lot of running around in circles, but it's starting to come together.
Oh yeah!! Got the new car stereo installed - will have tunes for the long drive..thank jeebus.

In 2007 I was run over by an Austrian train. I didn't have travel insurance, but I do have federal employee health care. I have a whole new appreciation for just how wrong a vacation can go.sadie wrote:I purchased travel insurance last week...went back and forth with myself about it, and decided it is money well spent.

Thank you, Fishy. To be honest, I thought of you while making my decision. Things CAN happen, and they DO happen. In a perfect world none of us would ever need to file a claim - but I feel it is a wise choice to have it in place. There is a difference between being an "alarmist" and being prepared, and travel insurance falls under the latter.theCryptofishist wrote:In 2007 I was run over by an Austrian train. Ah, the Austrians are even further from the culture of Prussian efficiency than the Bavarians. (We won't even discuss the Swiss.) I can recommend the hospital in Innsbruck. Something about all the skiing causualties in the winter and the rock climbing in the summer leaves them with a lot of finesse with extreme accidents...jneilvindy wrote:One hopes, even while on the playa, that the Austrian trains maintain their typical German punctuality!theCryptofishist wrote:In 2007 I was run over by an Austrian train. The stucco tape is 3M Scotch. Contractors heavy duty poly stucco tape 3260. Home Depot $7.97
30 day removal based on accelerated weathering For masking during stucco and EIFS applications. Ideal for aluminum, vinyl, and coated metal surfaces. For best results do not remove under extreme heat. Do not incinerate, chew or ingest.
The part about heat doesn't bother me. I never pack up and leave in the heat of the day. I tested it a week ago in 95 degree heat. It was still perfect.

Third tire came in, picked it up and had it mounted. Purchased a folding table for the kitchen area and another ice chest. Grocery store had roasted cashews with sea salt 2.00 off a bag. Ummmm, yes! Bought several.

Re: One item for BMan 2014 a day
Dragged everything out from the garage to start sorting through it and determining what will get brought this year, and what can get left behind.
I suspect we're in for a tent change, as the monster one we brought last year (though it was nice) also takes up eight square feet of space, and that's a lot of space. Plus, it was tetchy to set up.
I did find a package of 12 unused C batteries, though!

Picked up a dozen solar lights at Wally World. 97 cents each. Also picked up 1.5 pounds of bacon jerky. The den is starting to look like a Burning Man staging area and we still have over a month to go
