The Bar 2014 Edition
Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
.
LOL Yes, I am smiling, dagnabbit!
There were a couple other shots taken, so let's hope I'm not quite so stern in those. Meanwhile, I will let you call me Captain Ahab -- since I actually dressed as him in a Kinetic Sculpture Race some years ago.
Sven and Carla were of course smiling like lanterns the whole time, and it was wonderful to get caught up a bit with them. They are taking this year off from the burn, but will be back in 2015.

Good Morning All !
Now that my carpets are clean, I am off to get my teeth cleaned..then tomorrow I get my eyes checked .
No, I do not have a tx yet ; but I will get ready anyway.
After so many years it has become addiction.
And my fam says that I always act like this

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
I'm glad that Elliott looks like a million-dollar man, feeling better every day.
I went down in a new quarry this morning to get a sample. Doggone Osage County.....the quarry operator was all concerned about rattlesnakes. No problem. They're not Mojaves, so they're fine with me. We have an understanding, rattlers and I....I leave them alone, they leave me alone. I will, however, eat rattler if it's prepared correctly.
My host in Beijing a few years ago invited me out to lunch with him, and he asked me if' 'snake' was OK. Being a rattlesnake eater, I said "Sure." About 15 minutes later, the chefs in the kitchen had prepared a full-sized vegetable-stuffed EEL. Tender steamed white meat with bamboo shoots and bean sprouts, coiled up around a stainless steel contraption that was meant to show off the size of the thing. It didn't taste bad at all, in fact it was quite good. I explained the translation to him later, and he and I had a good laugh. Memories...it's what life is made of....and we're about to get FULL ON for memories in BRC.
I can't wait to see you all again! I love you folks.

Karine and I have tickets on the way thanks to a pal with two extra that made them available. Plane tickets are purchased. Car rented. Now it's time to start making lists and checking them twice. Whoot!

I'm on the edge of getting excited. I'm still in an internal struggle with myself about being a "responsible business owner" and all that. But I'll get over it.

Oh, I'd say the Bourbon. And a nice choice, too!
It's been four years since we were last there. This is Karine and my tenth anniversary of meeting out there, so I'm really jazzed that it worked out, even if a little late.
So now I have to start finding out where everyone will be. I hear there's a Booby Bar reunion on Tuesday.

YAY!! LCN and Karine.............ah, it'll be like extra lights on the tree!
Bikes should be findable/borrowable. I'll see if I have any extra that work......haha
so, I went to the eye doc.
Imagine: he told me to quit rinsing with boric acid, and stop putting castor oil in my eyes at night!
He says his "hocus pocus" chemical magic will relieve the inflammation in my eyelids.
he told me to scrub my eyelids with baby shampoo. I forgot to get it so used dishwashing soap.seemed to work, but may stings more than the other.......jeeze.......
*Heads for ROS, sets single barrel shot in rafters*

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
Whether I bring 36 or 38 won't make much of a difference. And I may be getting a few extra delivered on Playa, "needing only air in the tires". Of course, if Ygmir can bring a couple usable ones, that would help. One way or an other, bikes there will be.

Re: The Bar 2014 Edition
Hooray for LeChatNoir and Karine! Fancy bourbons for all the drinkers of the darker spirits, and I'll have vodka. Leave the bottle, it's been that kind of day.
Fishy, you'll of course be missed, but you've learned or gotten more from the playa than most ever will. If time away is what you need that's understandable, and it's okay if it's time for a new chapter (though please see previous comment about being missed).
Now, back to my previously unsscheduled food coma, already in progress. We did a slow slow roast on Sunday of our spoils from the farmer's market, so we'd have leftovers throughout the week. So tasty, I ate more than I should.
