Hello everyone - we are a visual artist and computer scientist based in New York. Though this will be our first burn, we know many people attending and have attended some NY burner events. We are very excited! We will arrive on Monday afternoon on the burner bus and are leaving on the bus on Saturday. Ideally we are looking for a camp with amenities such as veggie food and water (dues ok), but we're open to anything! Costumes are a plus.

Yes. Plug and plays do. Others might, depending on...

That's fine, that's wonderful. Sorry about the question(s) (there may be more). Most of the people on this board there own prep and aren't convinced that wealthy people coming in and buying someone else's costumes in a ready made camp is good for the event.
So, um sorry if we seemed unwelcoming or anything.
The best thing to do is start looking. Look at the theme camp threads here, and look at the list of theme camps and see what seems to fit for you and then contact and ask.
You don't need to have a costumey camp to give away your costumes. You can stand in the street any time you want and offer them to passers-by. And I hope you have clothes that fit large people and other shapes not loved by clothiers.

You may want to consider reaching out to some of the camps or people you've connected with at the regional events you've been to. While camping with complete strangers can be fun, it may be a challenge considering you wouldn't have been a part of the months many camps spend preparing, or wouldn't be sticking around to help tear down or clean up. Other than that, spend some time reading through the camp listings on the board or the main site - some are still recruiting for new members.

Hey...
Just checking in with my other camp mates, but its possible we might have space for you two. No dues and we are loosely organized, but we will welcome anyone with an open heart and willing to add a little extra to our group.
As for the whole "paying dues" and "no water" thing...most veteran burners on here are going to take offense. It kind of sounds like you want a "plug and play" camp, and that goes against the principles of Burning Man. I'm also coming in on Burner Express, so I totally get how stressed you guys are feeling about water.
Come with enough water that you won't be relying completely on another person's supply (1.5 liters per day/per person) and at least enough food to keep you from starving.
PM me in a few days to check back.
