Now you have gone too far !!!!

I bet some people that I could train the dogs to cook me eggs in the morning. First I taught them that they enjoyed eating eggs, so I am halfway there. Sucker bet.
I have already trained them to only pee and poop where I will find it with my shoe.
Depending how the action would effect the wolves status as endangered, and the protection afforded, and once California is divided into 6 states, I fully support introducing wolves to many people.

Dear Lonsomebri;

I fear I've made a horrible, horrible mistake for my first burn.
I've joined a camp of foreigners!

My question is this: how loud and slowly must I yell so they can understand me? Also, is a bullhorn acceptable?

Dear Lonesomebri,

Is there any chance we could see a video of you singing "Ave Maria" to one of your foster dogs?

If you want to get thru to our foreign friends from down under, shouting loud and slow, using a bullhorn, might help, but for any chance of mutual understanding you're going to want to do that very drunkenly.

I grew up in Michigan, north of Indiana, where we could look down on Hoosiers as geography intended. Do you realize how close Indiana is to Kentucky? Nothing but a bridge separating them.

At least we got more than that with the Aussies, a lot of good it’s doing us. Have fun flocking with the flamingos. I don’t speak other languages, but I can often figure out words with a shared Latin root, so simple words in Spanish or French I might be able to figure out… but who the hell knows what those Kangaroo Dundees are jabbering….

The BMorg's decision to round up the Hoosiers with the Aussies, as they might say over on the “What’s My Conspiracy?” thread, just makes good sense. Neither knows how to ask a question, as this little experiment has shown.

I’m trying to learn the lyrics to Ave Marie right now, isn’t that the song that says benedicta tu in mulieribus, Savannah?

Thank you Lonsomebri, I knew you'd understand!

I've watched crocodile Dundee 1 and 2 this evening as a refresher course, tomorrow night I shall watch the Mad Max series and feel I'm ready for anything they can throw at me.

Michigan eh?

Also try to watch The Castle and/or The Dish they're probably more relevant. The Dish even has an adorable American character in it.

And the camp isn't just Aussies and Hoosiers, we've got people from Spain/Mexico, Spain/Brazil, France, New Zealand, South Africa/UK, El Salvador, Canada and hopefully a dutch girl too. Oh and a couple of other Americans.

Dear Lonesomebri,
Why do shirtcockers frequent intersections, camp perimeter, and center camp? Is that what's hot in shirtcocking today?

And why is it that merely the mention of the word shirtcocker is enough to invoke a chuckle?

Dear Lonesomebri,

You do realize that people in Kentucky have finally learned how to paddle logs across the Ohio River, right?

We don't need no stinkin' bridges!

Once they create a non-self-aware shirt-cocker robot, it will truly be the end times.

First burn, late at night, I pass a guy in a huge fur coat trying to keep warm in the frigid evening air, he has no pants on.
It must have been uncomfortably cold for him, so the selfless lack of pants must be his gift to the community, sort of like DJs.

Please do not get me started about Ohio.

And, yeah, there are many nations represented in my camp also, but once they are brought together in shared labor and joy, they are all serfs to me.
And I have a 6 foot tall flamingo I'm bringing, so there is that.

Ask Lonesomebri;
I’m out drinking with my old barfly buddy. He has never been to the Burn. I tell him about this thread, ask him if he has any questions.
“Yeah”, he says, “Why are Burners such know-it-all assholes who think they are better than everyone else?”
Wow !!! I pondered this question awhile, slowly realizing, hmmmm… I am the only Burner he knows.

Lonesomebri
Why, when people are trying to join a camp, do they give out such horrible cvs in modern business prose, that any sane camp would have nothing to do with them?

In fact, some are so cloying, I'm embarrassed to read them.

And could you do something about the word embarrassed? With two sets of double letters, it just confuses me.

It's best to bring it. I like getting stuff, but I believe the ability to be generous and giving is a show of vitality and strength, that the person giving is actually collecting the greater gift, that sense of strength and vitality. This is why I kinda laugh at people talking about giving it back or paying it forward or whatever, instead of just saying they enjoy helping others. Of course if this is a question of a sexual nature, I'm not above charity, though like Simon, at the Burn I have on clothes under my clothes

My high maintenance girlfriend. For 15 years Jeannine and I were together, partners in crime. We moved to San Francisco to live, hiked the Grand Canyon and Sierras, drove across country, and across a barren and empty Black Rock desert and up to High Rock Lake Canyon, eventually bought a house together. One fall, about a dozen years ago, she had a heart attack, ending up in the hospital. The doctors said it was an undetected genetic heart value defect that had become infected. For a couple days I sat and watched the maintenance, changing electronic lines and numbers. Talked to Doctors about them trying this or trying that. More maintenance. But, yeah, she was too high maintenance and had a second heart attack. She was 39.
Do you wanna ask me why I drink?
