I was going to chime in on that, but had decided to just let it lie. Good eye.

Wow they're awesome!

Yesterday I picked up tickets from the post office, not the usual post office where things that can't be delivered to American Boyfriend's house get delivered though so there was a lot more walking involved than I anticipated. I promptly came home and napped. Then even more email sending in the evening.

Reread the 2014 Survival Guide...twice...AND downloaded the pdf file.

Food box started.

Darlene said her son changed all the fluids in the pickup truck.

Found my hard copies of award letter and disabled vehicle pass but could not find copy of confirmation letter for low income ticket. I need to go to the library Monday and download a hard copy.

Found a red balaclava to go with my fez and red cape. These will cover my white Egyptian robe and jedi tabard and red sash and white pirate slops and knee high riding boots.

I have 3 shemaghs : black and white, green, and white. I have my English explorer outfit also. My cargo shorts, t-shirts, socks, tighty whities, and tube socks, and, of course, my towel.

Every traveler needs a towel.

theCryptofishist, does that mean you're part Hungarian?

Trying to finalize the camp layout plan so I can send it to the people who will start their journey next week. If only I could get the camp lead to take just a minute and look at it.

I'm getting some excellent customer service at this RV supply company I've ordered parts from for the bike rack. If anyone wants to know their name, PM me and I'll give it to you. They're really good and have damn near anything you'd need for a trailer, RV, hitch on a car, etc.

Tracked down some hats to wear, as the ones we wore last time went mysteriously missing. Starting to gather things together for a test camp setup this weekend - the boy and I are camping alone this year instead of camping with others, so we need to figure out how best to arrange everything - and that's NOT something I want to do at BRC.

No. I couldn't think of anything that would evoke "Polish". And I liked the whole idea of applying cracker reality to human reality...

I finished the camp shower today. The frame comes apart easy and will reassemble within 30 minutes or so on the playa. We got the shower basin for free so the total construction cost was under $80.00 and, with upgrades, it could last for a long while! I think my campmates will be pleased...

I laid out a solar shower in the sun to be ready to test it out and after about two hours it was way to hot to use as shower water. I could barely touch it! I think the shade will probably do the trick...

Now it's on to the Generator Baffle Box Version#3.

Good luck with your preparation everyone!

Jaybobboy, I know where you camp. I may just sneak into that shower while you're all asleep. Oops. It's burning Man. You are never ALL asleep. I'm at 5:15 G so I'll see you there. Any takers on that free bike? I'll get rid of it one way or another next week-end.

Just arrived back home from a three day camping trip in that other state (California). Two packages waiting for me in the garage - laser tail lights for the bike and a silver tarp to cover the table the ice chests will be under. Four weeks from today I should be on the Playa :D

Meant to pick up metallic fabric for a costume we had planned.

Ended up also picking up fabric for four other costumes that just randomly occurred to me while I was there.

Apparently, I'll be busier than expected between now and the 17th!

Alright... had to make up for lost time this weekend. Unfortunately I only worked on large time consuming things, so I didn't get LOTS off my list, but I'm happy with the progress.

First thing was to gut an old computer subwoofer and install some inexpensive 12 volt electronics. Now with a 12 volt input (lighter plug) and a mono RCA input, I have a little portable sub to go with my mobile PA. Unfortunately the input sensitivity on the amp is pretty low, so I might need to find a way to boost the signal a little bit.

Next, I put panel mount connectors for all the external connections to my mobile PA control box. That meant adding a USB charging output, a 12v lighter socket output, RCA input jacks, a mono RCA output jack, and a pair of banana terminals for 12v charging input. In the process I drilled a hole in my existing power supply board, so now I need to fix that, but everything else appears to be almost ready to go!

...and what I was hoping to spend the whole weekend on, but only got going on sunday afternoon: the new playa coat for 2014. First step is making the coat... next step will be putting lights in it. We'll see if I get to step two or not.

...and yes I tried to get a photo without at least 1 cat in it. Unfortunately they refuse to be left out of projects.

Very productive weekend, but still, not as much done as I would like.

Finished all of my EL Wire projects! Decided not to sew it on my full length night coat. I braided three wires and made a big necklace I can put on at any time as long as I have something with pockets to put the battery packs in. Added hot pink EL wire to a hat.

Got my food stuffs all set from Trader Joe's. They have some amazing products. Excited to eat plantain chips and coconut water and crazy high sodium Indian food dishes on the playa :)

Got my 12 inch rebar from Lowe's and a whole bunch of misc. supplies, like batteries and a bike light and heavy duty gloves, from Menard's. The last big thing I really need to do is to set up the tent and shade structure and make sure that works as planned. All before August 18th and I'm good. Whew.
