Are OMG tickets hard to get?
How fast will they sell out? What are my chances of getting one?

Well the main sale sold out in 40 minutes so yeah, they're gonna go quick but your chances are as good as anyone else's

Re: Are OMG tickets hard to get?
They will sell out extremely fast - as in: have your finger on the button at 12:00:01. There are 3,000 tickets (which is 2,000 more than originally planned), but as you can see at a glance looking at the Tickets Wanted forum, demand is incredibly high.
No-one can predict the chances of getting one, because we have no idea how many people will enter and how fast they'll go. We can only speculate that, due to ticket demand, they will sell out lightening fast. Make sure you have your Burner profile set up, and don't forget to register for the sale between the 31st & Aug 4th (opens & closed 12noon PDT).

I'd say get an atomic clock and try 12:00:00.001. Will raise chances 10-fold.Eric wrote:They will sell out extremely fast - as in: have your finger on the button at 12:00:01. Of course, once your finger clicks the switch, it's all up to the length of internet tubes between you and control central.kiss-o-matic wrote:I'd say get an atomic clock and try 12:00:00.001. Will raise chances 10-fold.

Re: Are OMG tickets hard to get?
Just popping in to say that if you miss tickets in OMG, there's still hope. Historically, most second-hand sales seem to take place in the last two weeks leading up to the event. Get involved in your local community, hit the regular social media outposts (facebook, eplaya, reddit), and your ticket will come!
edit: Although, every year is different, and it feels like this might be the first year where people who want to go to Burning Man just simply can't go. I have yet to hear of someone who couldn't attend due to a ticket (and had honestly put in the footwork to find one). This year might be different. Who knows. I have faith. My camp just found a ticket last week. They are out there!

Re: Are OMG tickets hard to get?
Has anyone had an issue with getting their Burning Profile password reset? I am not getting the password reset email when I request for one. I have double checked my email and I am using the right one.
Thanks

Re: Are OMG tickets hard to get?
It's difficult to quantify just how hard they'll be, because that's a function of demand. There will be 3,000 tickets, and historically there's been plenty of demand.
@MattMan13 - it's not generally much of a problem, unless you're that guy that not only didn't bother to write down/remember your password but also waited until the last possible second (when there's already a ton of other people asking for help with stuff). If that is you, smack yourself upside the head gently, and then take a deep breath. The profiles team should be able to get you sorted out fairly quickly (assuming you know your username, and you use the contact form on the Burner Profile site to reach them). Remember, you can register at ANY TIME between now and noon PDT on Monday.
@rubymermaid - yes.
@Ano - your mileage may vary. Remember, the circumstances have been different in each of the last several years. I'm hopeful that persistence will pay off, but by my reckoning tickets will be nowhere as easy to get as they were in either 2012 or 2013.

Re: Are OMG tickets hard to get?
I would say that will only work if the server is using the atomic clock.kiss-o-matic wrote:I'd say get an atomic clock and try 12:00:00.001. Since registration closes well before the actual sale, will they announce how many people registered?

Re: Are OMG tickets hard to get?
It would be nice, but that's not information they've ever given out - they don't say how many people tried for tickets in the General Sale, or were registered in STEP... it's just the way things are.
