Water help

Post by lostnfoundaround » Wed Jul 30, 2014 6:29 am

Hello everyone!

I am planning on attending BM for my first time on my motorcycle. My issue is water! I will have two 5 gallon bladders full of water (probably in Winnemucca) but it will be very challenging for me to bring it in on my bike. Could I meet someone in town who would do it for me or should I try to find someone online who is passing by and can bring it into camp for me?

Thank you! :)

I assume you may have seen this thread? There is a section on water and type of water bladder to use when traveling on a motorcycle. Not sure if this what you're using or not but thought I'd pass it along.

Ten gallons of water weighs 80 pounds. Bring less on the motorcycle, and come by Elliot's Bicycle Service on 5:00 past G, in the afternoons, for refills. (We service motorcycles also. ) (Of course, do NOT actually ride the motorcycle after you have arrived at your camp.)

I could supply one motorcyclist from my stash of gallon jugs anyway, but Sunbeam is bringing a 500 gallon tank full, yes! Just wait 'til you see the size of the bucket she used when she made her Figjam Bucket Cooler!

And fill up your water bladders in Gerlach, not Winnemucca. Then you'll only have a few miles to drive with them full, and at slow speeds at that.

I would bet you could find a person who was going to ride as a passenger on a vehicle and would prefer the experience of riding in as passenger on the bike in exchange for the vehicle taking your stuff.
