And I came here just to post on the 'mystic'. Seems the gift-seekers are coming out of the woodwork now. Seems like there's been a few less this year.

I've been helped over the years by a few therapists/psychologists/psychiatrists. My therapist was particularly good at pointing out patterns of behavior and calling me on my own bullshit.

Wow. I didn't even see the arrival date.

Nice catch, Sav.

I agree with Ratty, we need a page three for page two.

Mod note: the therapy discussion that overtook the last few pages has been moved to it's own thread. You can find it here: Therapy, psychology, and all that jazz..

I love when people fail to distinguish between easily preventable problems and unavoidable issues. I love it even more when they then hide on page 2.

If something is consistently dripping off your vehicle and you can't be bothered to put down a drip pan you're an ass. Period.

Yes, it rains out there, but this is like saying that because even the most carefully designed stuff could be damaged and turn to moop it's fine to bring live plants, astroturf, or cheap farther boas out there.

The entire continued existence of the event relies on us not shitting in our own sandbox so how about we not pretend that simple, basic measures are a joke?

And jneilvindy, let's see how you feel once you've actually been to the event, shall we? Once you've seen how easily things turn to shit and what a pain in the ass it is to undo something that could have been easily prevented I'll put some stock in your opinion.

Rough morning?

It's federal land that makes the BLM a ton of money yearly. It's not an UNESCO site and the feds have no problem with say, cattle pooing, peeing, birthing babies ect. on federal lands without even collecting so much of a dime. I'm not sure why burners should be treated any different. I'd love to see the day BLM tries to shoot the cash cow BM represents. It would be an epic battle between the feds and Nevada that's for sure.

BTW I'm annoyed when I see my neighbors cars leaking oil into their own driveway. A vehicle dripping oil at BM would bother me. Someone putting a tarp under their vehicle out of fear of rain runoff? I'd think that person needed to go home and talk to a therapist about their no doubt many many issues.

The logical conclusion to giving in to that kind of fear is that BM is cancelled and NO ONE EVER is allowed on the playa, burners and non-burners alike.

Anyways, give a hoot, don't pollute along with all the crying italians and smoke covered bears. I'm sure MY generation has nothing to contribute to the decline of personal litter and conservative protection. Go youth!

See ya at the burn! I'll be the old guy with the dump pouch for moop hanging off my belt :)

Actually, BLM holds an annual site inspection. If we exceed a very strict threshold for moop (including ground scars) the event is over. It's in the contract as a condition for the annual permit. And the only people suggesting we catch rain run off were employing reductio ad absurdum.

We're not talking about the A/C condensation runoff are we?
Anyone who thinks that's even an issue has never run an A/C in Black Rock! There's pretty much none.
And even if there were, that would fall into the "ridiculous" category.

Like I said, it's too dry for it to matter, but on general principle if your vehicle is dripping from a single point, catch it.

I had a tire that leaked air all over the place last year.
I just kept refilling it.

Because lately I've just had no filter and I'm not nice. I see shit on FB and have just been calling people out on their bs, then I feel kind of bad, but not really. And I like anonymity of page 2 but I would be just to transparent.
