I'll be attending Burning Man (again) this year, but there will be one major difference from previous years... I'm geocaching now, and not only that, attempting 365 days in a row. The Burn is about the only thing that may trip up my streak, but maybe... Just maybe if there are enough caching burners and there's at least one event every day of the burn (there are two already one on Friday and one on Sunday I believe) I may be able to make this happen... with your help! I know I could create my own events for every day but somehow that would feel like cheating.
I know there has to be at least a small group of people with passion for both Geocaching and Burning Man. I'll keep my fingers crossed and keep looking for events to pop up on the map!

A couple good friends of mine are geocachers, not sure how much they do at the burn but they might be able to hook you up with some others. They'll be at Camp D.O.A. which I believe is at 3:00 and E this year. She's on ePlaya, her username is Peritwinkle.
The playa isn't "home" to anything or anyone, it's not magic, it's just a goddamm camping trip. A really awesome one. -Captain Goddammit

Peritwinkle is the person that has set up the two events. I'll be at the event on Friday but will miss the event on Sunday since I'm departing early Sunday morning. Look for the tye dye shirt with Great Basin Eastern Sierra Geocachers on the back.Madgirl wrote:A couple good friends of mine are geocachers, not sure how much they do at the burn but they might be able to hook you up with some others. You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.

If you are asking the generic question what is geocaching? - check out http://www.geocaching.com/.Bless wrote:For the unenlightened, can you explain how one geocaches at TTITD?
If you already know about geocaching then the answer is that there can be no traditional caches planted in BRC but apparently the geocaching gods are allowing "events" to take place. Currently there are two events planned:
http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC53 ... 1b82afd894
and
http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC53 ... 2edd4dbba4
The first one is like a meet and greet for geocachers. The second one is a CITO ( Cache In Garbage Out) event where geocachers meet and do a clean up of the area, in this case the trash fence .
