New Burners on a STAG
New Burners on a STAG
We are 4 guys (3 italians, 1 english) on a STAG week....rather than follow conventions and go to Vegas for the weekend, we decided to try something a little different. We are not associated with any particular camp as we wanted to keep things open, although we are competent and handy (engineers, DIY-ers). What hints and tips would experienced burners offer us? Is the Playaa split into zones at all? Where shall we park our RV for example? Very much looking forward to the adventure......
Re: New Burners on a STAG
Yes, the playa is split into zones.
Registered theme camps and open camping. You'll want to pick up a map at the Greeter's Station after you pass Gate.

Hey there, welcome to eplaya!

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me

Read the survival guide.
Read a million articles on burningman.com.
Browse topics for preparedness here on the forums.
Bring sunblock, lip balm, 1.5 gallons of water per day per person and to show respect and to blend in, a native American headdress can be picked up anywhere along the drive up from Reno I'm told.
Everything else is optional

You do have tickets, right? This adventure might require alot more planning and foresight than a trip to Vegas, in case you were comparing the two.
And you know it's a gay event, right?

Thank you for all your replies!
hahaha... Yeah, we do have tickets, and have been thoroughly reading all the guides - we 're not the kind to just rock up totally unprepared. We're very much looking forward to it. And no, i was not comparing a crude weekend in Vegas with going to the Burning Man...i merely picked it, as they say, "solely for illustration purposes"
A gay event? No problem! It actually reminds me of another stag i went on, in Amsterdam - as we're walking down from Central station.. we pass a group of sailors..all very well, we're in Amsterdam after all... walk a bit further... 6 guys dressed as pilots.. hmm... hang on a minute, what's going on here? Quick scout of the posters.. turns out it was Gay Pride weekend.. biggest festival in Europe... and we were on a stag do.. ahahaha...all very comical... we did, however, have an absolutely awesome weekend anyway!!
