Playa project to make myself irresistible to all the ladies on the playa.

It goes directly to the hind brain leftover from prehistoric times.

If I use a bic lighter to burn the hair out of my nose and ears, I will smell just like the guy who discovered fire and they'll all want to have my babies!!! 8)

Keep an eye out for Perseid meteors too, we are in their neighborhood for a couple more days.

Yeah, you're right Catman, dang it, not a great year to see a whole lot of Perseid meteors due to the full moon. But hey, with a little luck perhaps a chance to see an earth grazing meteor or two while enjoying the evening outdoors.

Good morning bar!

Productive weekend!
Lists are just about finished and all the critical stuff is already checked off.
It will be a bit frantic this last 11 days but definitely under control.

Bought 7 liters of rum to make caipirinhas with.
Hopefully there will be electricity at the M&G for my ice crusher...

Can anybody tell me how well limes survive unrefrigerated on-playa?
How about potatoes & onions?

:coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Yes for electricity at the M&G. Yay for crushed ice!!!

Limes, uncut, will do fine if you keep them in a cooler or something that does not cook them. We always bring a few for our "Tequila Sunday" by which time they have been in my cooler for 10 days without ill effect.

Potatoes & onions, ditto, but think of the MOOP when you peel them!!! I would not go through that for any amount of tasty food. And if I was downwind of you when those onion skins started blowing around, I would not be a very friendly neighbor, just sayin.

If you must have fresh onion, peel/slice/chop/whatever and bring in a sealed plastic container. In your cooler.

For potatoes, Trilo knows, pre-cook & vac-pack them. Otherwise :|

HI gang!!
yay for prep and preppers!
I'd think potatoes and onions, in a burlap sort of bag, would last pretty good. potatoes might get a little soft, but that'd be it? keeping them dry would help I'd think.

good call Elliot, but, imagine your popularity with said fire suppression in your pants pocket. Just something to consider.

Ice crusher? We are thinking of bringing the shave ice machine, or maybe the baby one. Hand crank. Also have a hand crank blender. Hmmm.

20 grommets left to install in the last shade-tarp. I need to get off the computer! But somehow I feel lazy this morning. Must come from the comfortable feeling of being basically on schedule, or even ahead. Amazing how much I get done once I start.

Debating with myself whether to leave at 4 a.m. on Monday 18 and spend the day in Reno, or leave at 1 a.m. on Tuesday 19 and drive straight thru. (I want to climb the Sierras in cool air.) Uh.... Just typing it out helped me make up my mind -- 4 a.m. Monday it is!
I can visit the Automobile Museum.

Mornin all. Had a minor thunderstorm around 10:30 last night. More of a light and sound show than rain.
