RV "Tip-Outs" on the Playa?

Post by abraxasbear2 » Wed Aug 13, 2014 11:41 am

What kind of experience have RVers had with using their "tip-outs" on the playa? On a relatively new RV, are the tip-outs reasonably sealed when in use, or does using them create a nightmare for extra (beyond the normal) dust penetration?

If the seals are in good shape you should be ok but I'd bring some blue painters tape to fix any "hull breaches".
The trick is to go out and clean the outside surfaces of your slides before you retract them when you want to leave, so all the playa dust doesn't end up in the interior.

I would also recommend closing yours and then checking for any holes or gaps from the inside. You would be surprised what you may find. Tape or plug them up with towels because the drive onto the playa can make the inside dusty before you even set up camp.
I'm a fixer. I fix things.
