Is anyone driving from Miami?
I have a electric skateboard that I want to transfer to the playa, which has a huge battery and can't be taken on a plane.
It can be only transported by ground.
I am willing to pay for the hassle.

Transit time is too long. I am looking for somebody who would be possibly starting around Wed, Thu, of Fri next week.VultureChow wrote:UPS Ground. Ship to Reno.

Just brainstorming in case this unlikely request goes unfulfilled... maybe you can leave the battery at home and buy one in Reno, or wherever you're flying to?
Come to think of it, cost would be comparable, or less, than paying someone to transport it, and it would be a LOT more secure if it never left your possession.

$600 just for the extra battery ;(Captain Goddammit wrote:Just brainstorming in case this unlikely request goes unfulfilled... maybe you can leave the battery at home and buy one in Reno, or wherever you're flying to?

Oh. Shit.
Does it HAVE to be that specific battery?
Edit: I wasn't familiar with electric skateboards, so I looked them up... I guess a regular deep-cycle ain't gonna work... but the boards look pretty damn cool!

Re: Anyone driving from MIAMI?
Judging from the first reports from the playa, you may have picked a bad year to bring your board. Reports say the surface is very soft. Assuming you can get it to go at all, it's going to be a power-hog, and you may be looking at some faceplants regardless of speed.
Hope it works out for ya. Looks like a lot of fun if the playa will cooperate.

I'm giving this a nudge over to the Share Resources board, since that's a better fit for rideshare posts.
